I see talk about 1.8's and 2.0's...but i've haven't noticed what years they are in.

I just picked up a 93 base model Eclipse for my daily driver. So i can keep the miles off my 01 Stratus R/T.

I was wondering what engine I have....I've only seen the car once and it was at night. My parent's picked it up for me since it was by their house.

I was wondeing what basic performance mods I could do to it to give it alittle more pep.

What bolt ons are available for it?

Thank you for your time.

if it's a 1.8 engine: 4G37 (base model)
if it's a 2.0 engine: 4G63

NT dsm's from 90-94 came with these engines. NT's from 95-99 came with 420A engines. however, 95-99's didn't come with 1.8 engines.

can i switch out my 1.8L for a 2.0L?? i am thinking of doing this cause this 1.8L really sux. slow as hell.

You can but you need to change out the wiring harness for the 2.0L one for starters. You'll also want to change out the engine mounts as the 1.8L mounts aren't exaclty the same. Close but no sigar. there are a few other things but that's all I know.

Ok so by going by the fact i have the base model...i'm assuming it's the 1.8liter.

Are there any bolt ons available for it?

Granted this is just a commuter car...so i'm not looking to get serious with it or anything.

A little tip! Open your engine bay and look at the valve cover.

DOes it look like this, "2.0L"

Well seeing that i've only seen the engine once and i don't have the car in my possession, i'm not 100% positive...but i think it's the bottom picture...which is the 1.8L.

So...is there any bolt ons for that car?

2.0L intake and catback exaust fit. I've got a Pacesetter catback myself. I also have a UR underdrive pully. Next is going to be the custom intake. They make a high flow cat as well for our little engines.
Ginsu417 has turbo charged his 1.8l using a 4g32 turbo manifold off from an old colt turbo from the mid 80's, as part of the recipe.

A few internal things have to be done by having parts sent out to be machined. For example, a regrind of the cam for better performance.

That's not everything but that a decent amount.
