I just sanded down back of gauges to make 'em white @ night instead of ugly orange. Well i know there's a million write ups and all, but i have some tipz for ppl i'd like to share to help get it done faster than the 2 1/2 hours it took me ^^.
First, MARK WHERE THE NEEDLES ARE before you take them off. Believe me, its much easier to do this than to sit there for 20 minz guessing and driving around to test 'em.
Second, only sand where the numbers are. I have friends who have spots where u can see the faint black on the gauge where they sanded 2 deep on spots away from the #'z.
Third, if you plan to do more than the mph and rpm, which i did(oil gauge) then be ready to have some complications. The oil gauge has a small washer with 5 holes on it, the farthest on each side R bolts for the 2 nuts that hole the gauge in place. I dropped this from the back and it left me about 1/3 an inch to work with. You need that to keep the screws screwed in and it sits behind the plastic. Well, i couldnt get mine back in so i super glued them -_-. Just do mph and rpm and you'll be very happy.
fourth, watch ur needles. I dropped the oil 1 into the steering column 3 damn times
. It was a huge biotch to get it w/o garage claws.
