I was board today and decided to compile a list of parts that should be changed when doing a timing belt job on a 2gnt. I shopped around and called 2 Local Chrysler dealerships, Autozone, AdvanceAutoParts, NapaAutoParts, BuyMoparNow, BlackDog MotorSports, and Fenton Dodge.

Here is the list, best price, and location of part:

$62.00 Timing Belt – Napa Auto Parts
$50.00 Water Pump – Napa Auto Parts
$50.00 T-Belt Tensioner – BlackDog MotorSports
$55.55 Tensioner Bracket\Pulley – Fenton Dodge
$26.40 Idler Pulley – Fenton Dodge
$22.19 PS\AC Belt – Napa Auto Parts – AFX UDP
$10.36 Alternator Belt – Napa Auto Parts – AFX UDP

Grand Total $276.50

AdvanceAuto and Autozone had slightly cheaper timing belts and water pumps but they were some weird off brand. Napa carries Gates brand belts, which are the best. Since I have an AFX UDP I needed special PS\AC and Alternator belts for my car.

NOTE: Prices don’t include tax or shipping.

get a toda timeing belt. They are strong as hell and are made to be drivin hard and hold at high rpm's. Might save you a valve into your piston head. Might cost a little more but well worth it.

i was going to change my timing belt the other day and everything was going smooth until i got to the crankshaft pully. i got the bolt to break loose buthte pully wouldent come off for nuthin. i tryed to get it off for hours and had three other friends and my dad try to get it off with no success. has anybody had this problem? what did u do to get it off?

I had to borrow a pulley puller and I still broke the pulley so I went with a new lighter pulley. It is going to be sick. Since you already have it off why not do the same thing?

how did u go about breaking the pully off and what brand of pully do u recommend replacing it with and hou much is it? Thanks.

I didn't have the right kind of pulley puller. I only had two prongs and should have had three. I also had to drop my engine about 3". I bought one off of ebay. I think Japan racing? Lots of companys make it. Mine cost $67.00. It is supposed to add 6 to 8 HP. I haven't drove with it on but I think will mainly only help the response.

I had the three prong and broak them all? i dunno what to do cause i really dont want to take it to a shop and pay out the ass for something i can do my self?
