can anyone find a wiring diagram for the 1g n/t mas. not for the 1g turbo mas. i need one to find out if it is possible to connect a 2g mas to a 1g n/t. the 1g mas has 8 wires and the 1g n/t has 6. i need the diagram to find out which wires do what on the n/t and to see if it is possible to do this mod. any help would be greatly appreciated. thanx for the help.
 
i had that diagram allready. thats for a 2gmas in a 1g turbo. i need the diagram for the 1g non-turbo car. the non turbo has 6 wires where the turbo has 8. i need it for the non-turbo to find out what the six wires are and what they do to see if i can get the 8 wired on the 2gmas to match up without any problems.
 
the 1g nt mas has 6 wires, the 1g turbo has 7, the 2g turbo has 7.

the main reason for people using the 2g mas is to fight overrun and to get more airflow. not only aren't there many (if any) gains to be had on the 1g, but the correction you'd have to use through something like an s-afc could cancel out whatever gain there may be. most 1g turbo's running s-afc's can use 550cc injectors without using too much of a correction factor. so you're looking at 100cc worth of correction factor there, plus then you'd have to make the correction for the injector difference between the stock nt injectors and the 450cc's essentially.

any minor issue with the tuning of your safc and you'd very quickly negate the gains, and even assuming you got the tuning right, you'd need at least a pocketlogger to get it tuned right or some dyno time. both making the cost of this mod almost illogical for its gains.

assume this..
$100 for 2g mas (and that's a good price)
$250 for a used s-afc
$170 for pocketlogger
$30 or so for the 2g filter adapter
$45 for a k&n

we're talking $595 for at best 5-6 hp (if any at all over a free cut can and k&n air filter), so if you want to try it go ahead. but i wouldn't advise it.
 
so if i were to just hack my 1g mas and get a AFC i would have enough tuning capabilities to pretty much do anything ill need on a N/T. i want to run a 100 shot dirrect port and 11:0:1 compression with a 4g64 crank. i know if i get a standalone ecu, and a afc i will be able to tune it great but i was wondering if the stock mas could handle that wothout a problem even if i were to hack it. this is the setup i am going to be building so i want to get the electrical done at the same time hopefully. id do the electrical then put the fresh motor in. could the stock mas handle this setup?
 
the stock mas and the s-afc should be able to handle this.

if you do go with a standalone remember that it is a standalone. an s-afc is what is called a piggy-back. it basically lies to the ecu in order to get the desired effect, whereas the standalone is a fully unprogrammed ecu that will need to fully program all on your own. it can be totally custom configured to do anything you want it to do and would never require anything like an s-afc.

if you were to run something like 11.1 compression and a large shot of nitrous you may also want to look into a stronger ignition such as something from msd if you don't go standalone.
 
i was going to put a full msd ignition in the car anyway. if i put the standalone in or not that was going to be my ignition. can the stock ecu handle this setup if i backed it up with a afc, or will i have to change it as well.
 
stock ecu + s-afc + msd igntion could handle anything you'll be throwing at it anytime soon.
 
sweet. you da man. now all i have to do is get some money together and get some parts. would i be able to throw 345cc injectors at the bottom end with a afc and a afpr. will it run rich.
 
with ans-afc in there it'll only run as rich as you tune it to run.
