Weak Start then eventually dies

Hi.
My 95 Talon Esi has been sitting for about 3 years. When i get back to it my dad says it has a bad main bearing. I go to start it and it dies almost immediatly after start. I dont know where to start. I changed the battery and spark plugs. What else should be done. Any suggestions?

How old is the gas bro? I would drain the old gas and put some new gas in an maybe a bottle of fuel treatment.

Could be a few things. Does it start back up every time you try to start it?

Weak start could be a bad ground/ battery connection.

Stalling could be
1. Crankshaft position sensor( take it off, clean it make sure the wires are good)
2. Bad gas.

Is it throwing a CEL?

Let's see, you have a car that won't stay running. You have very limited diagnosis. Bad main bearings would be very, very unlikely to do this (it would have to have like 1/2 inch of end play so the crank sensor would lose signal) and your fix is to swap motors.

Interesting strategy .

Kinda overhaul to do an entire motor swap. But i guess if you've got the time and extra motor then knock yourself out.
