aftermarket intake manifold

Ive got a aftermarket intake manifold on my 420a and when i crank the car it revs about 2000 rpm or more it ran fine before i put it on please help

You could always put the original intake back on and see if the problem goes away. Then diagnose where the problem is between the two manifolds.

Vac leak, throttle cable tight, rest ECU and let it learn, clean the throttle body (pintle area). There's a few.

you could buy a vacuum gauge for about $15 at autozone, and hook it up and compare the readings to the haynes. Or (which you will have to do anyways if you do have a vacuum leak) spray i think its carb cleaner around the IM with the car running and see if the idle changes. If it does, its sucking up carb cleaner, so you have a space or leak somewhere. Spray around to narrow where the leak is so you can fix it. More than likley you forgot to reinstall a gasket, or didnt tighten things down right.

u could get some non-flammable brake cleaner, and spray around gaskets, when engine boggs/sputters uve found a leak... ive had my TB gasket leak several times.. rtv or copper gasket spray those gaskets...

I'm kind of having the same problem my car seems to rev a little high when I start it. I hooked up a vacuum gauge though and it showed no sign of a leak as the vacuum was good.
