My buddy has a hideous lime green 2g 420a with a stalling issue. The thing will run fine sometimes for an hour or mor but usually only till its up to operating temp. I search before I post always but my searching skills aren too good. So if this has been discussed then just hit me with a link.

The issue started about a year ago. So far he has replaced the front o2. the crank sensor, the ECU, the tps, the maf or equivelant and the ignition transistor. He has done a tune up and replaced the fuel filter. I think he said he replaced the cam sensor but Im not 100% on that. (Im not familiar enough with the 420a to know if it has a cam sensor)

I dont now alot about the non turbo cars so please help me help him. Im wondering if a bad coolant temp sensor can cause this issue? I know some cars that a bad temp sensor will make it run like crap or just plane stall.

The car wont restart for hours unless he disconnects the ecu for 10 min or so. Then it will start right up and run for a few min but if its hot it dies again within a few min. Otherwise it just cranks with no fire. Also when it dies it just quits. No loss of power or stumbling first. Just dead.:hmm:

Make sure that you have no bubbles in the system, as an air pocket will do funky things too.

Bad CTS would be my very first guess.
