ok so we all know it's a pain to change the fuel filter but now mine is a bigger pain. Well I was wrenching the shit out of it and kinked my fuel line under the socket on the bottom of the filter and it now leaks. :banghead: So what can I do now? Is there a fitting or something I can use to fix this? Was really hoping to get this car running good today so if this is possible let me know.

I don't remember there being a hard line on the filter. That should just be a banjo connection. The fuel pump assembly has 2 hard lines coming off of it that are easily kinked when tampered with. If you did kink those, the only solution is get a new assembly.

well of coarse I can't find the cord to hook up my camera but just picture a fuel filter. The bottom nut under the filter, well right under that nut the fuel line twisted off. Is there any kind of fitting I can use to put my new filter on so it doesn't leak? Like a hose and a bunch of clamps or something?

wow lucky me. They actually make a fuel filter line repair line so all I need to do is get a filter and that and hose and clamp it up for now (not my DD) and enjoy my car finally. That banjo bolt is a pain though. Any tricks for that?

ive never had a problem with it just put my wrench on the filter and the fitting for the line and broke it loose. just do the top first when taking it off and the bottom first when putting it on. do u have a link for this repair kit you found?

see right where the line starts after that nut is where is twisted off. I thought I was in big trouble. But apparently it happens enough for my local oreilly's to keep it in stock so I don't feel totally stupid now. LOL
