I was just wondering if anyone had installed on of these on a 1G? How hard was it, and how big of a difference did it make? www.jetchip.com

The do almost nothing to help a DSM's performance, use your money towards some other mod.

Have any of you actually installed one? Did it make any difference? I got a 1.8L so I need all the performance I can get...

Before you all take the flying leap, you need to remember something. You would be changing your computer settings, this can be good for some small gains, but more over if it goes bad, trouble is a small word to describe what may and probably will happen. In my opinion it's not worth it. You can buy things such as a SAFC that you can use to TUNE your car how you want. Jet chips are more or less preprogrammed to run and you can change them. I'm not to sure on the venom however, I'll have to do some more research before I talk about that.

I just got done reading like 30 reviews on the venom. There is a mixed response to them. About 60% good 40% bad. http://www.carreview.com/pscParts/En...0_2874crx.aspx
I don't understand how some people can say that the product was bad azz while others say it's junk... Are some of them hooking it up wrong or getting defective units?
BTW the cheapest place I found it was
http://store.yahoo.com/dpstore/ven400percon.html
$270 for mine
Is it really worth it? need more opinions... I don't plan on doing this right away, but I am considering it for a future mod

VENOM 400 is a must have!
JET CHIPS SUCK... Look i bought the jetchop a few months back not only is it not worth the money.. but u buy it then u have to take out your ecu and send it to the company and they tune your #### for u.. and when u send it its about another 30 bucks for shipping.. then u wait around for about a week.. sittin on ## ass cause u cant drive.. then u get it back and install it.. and i barely felt a damn thing.. my guess is maybe 5 horsepower.. for about 400 hell no jet chips aint worth it.... plus once u put a jetchip in your ecu your computer isnt worth sh#t
VENOM 400..... i first bought it and i admit i was so exited i installed it wrong and f@#ked it up.. so i had to send it back.. then i was missing that horsepower it gave me.. so i bought it again.. and u really cant get a better product than this.. u feel crazy on the take off...... i havent put it on a dyno.. cause im in germany.. but if i did id bet it gave me about 30-40 horses..... and the good thing about it is that it can piggy back off my jetchip to give me even more of a gain.. Venom is more than worth the money..... all the bad things u hear about it.. is from people who are not real tuners like us and dont put any comments but bad ones.. and all the people like me who love the venom dont really care to tell anyone.. because they dont want you to know.. the only thing they can pick on about the venom is the button and how u may loose a little gas mileage.. big deal!!!!

Ok, I have come to the conclusion that the jet chips suck....but what about the venom? Still reading reviews but they are still mixed. The people either love them or hate them, what the hell? Even some of the DSM owners that have them are mixed also, like JONB777..need more people that actually have installed before I decide......

I purchased the JET A/F control module and I could tell a difference with it at mid range on up. Plus you can see a difference on the MUT (scanner) you can see the short term fuel and the long term fuel change with it on. But I also did another mod shortly after installing the JET which made an even bigger difference and that is moving the C.A.I. sensor closer to my K&N. But dont do this if you unless youve got a header and good exhaust. This is when youll see the biggest difference. One thing dont expect an difference but it will help with other mods. The Venom does the exact same thing as the JET. JET has been in the business longer than Venom. That my $0.02 take it for what its worth.
