Posting in this forum once again due to insufficient privilages.

Im going crazy, iv'e read over 20 posts about eibach prokits vs. sportlines and everyone is saying something different. I can't get a straight answer. My birthday is coming up in about 2 weeks and I have no clue which kit to go with at this point. I do not have the money to replace struts either way. I was going to get the sportlines but at this point i'm leaning toward the prokit. I wanted a big drop but i've read that with the sportlines things start to rattle, speedbumps are hell, some people blow their struts some don't. I just want a stiff ride that handles corners like a dream WITHOUT THE BODY ROLE OF THE STOCK SPRINGS. Thats one thing I can't stand is when I go around a corner faster than 15 the whole chassis rolls and I almost fall out of my seat. Do you have to get new struts with the pro kit because I do not have the money to do so but I can't afford blowing my stock struts. And also I've read many different opinions on this but.. with the prokit will I be fine with an alignment and bolt and washer rear camber kit??? Please help. thankyousomuch.

If you want an honest opinion... don't buy anything if you can't afford new struts with your new springs, or at least don't install your springs until you can afford struts as well. The stockers weren't meant to handle anything other than stock springs; you'll destroy them or suffer a bad ride if you neglect to upgrade.

The factory shocks will bottom out and blow with lowering springs.

Springs are only a part of the handling formula; you really need to match them to some decent shocks as well.

Read up on thicker stabilizer bars, also. They may be of interest to you.

I had 2" Eibach Lowering Springs. Absolutely loved the ride on stock shocks. However what they say is true, you risk just screwing everything up and you'll need to eventually replace the shocks. So might as well get the shocks with the springs. PITA to take everything apart twice when it could have been done once. I ran for about 8 months on the springs and stock shocks. No Wheel hop, great handleing, and I live on a killer dirt/gravel road, the ride was great. But I also went over speed bumps like 0.5 mph.

currently running sportline shocks with stock springs. I didnt upgrade shocks because of the money. I mainly did the springs to help eliminate wheel hop and for the look. It worked, no wheel hop and the lowered look is amazing. While i will eventually upgrade the shocks, no problems currently, but its has only been 2 months. And for speed bumps... well i try to avoid whenever possibly, not to mention any incline that is to steep can scrape my exhaust... fun fun...

Also with the sportline you will make a note to avoid potholes, of course if you have rims, you should already be in the practice of doing this to help avoid damage to them.

A note of advice. Don't lower more than 1" to 1.5" on an eclipse 2G. 2Gs are already low compared to say Hondas, so Hondas can take 2 to 3 inches of lowering. Do not lower unless you have the camber kits. You'll go thru tires like nothing. Lastly, if you change the springs, thats the ideal time to change shocks. Else, you'll have to take the whole thing out again, for each wheel!

Agree with The above. Put tenzo R's on my esi, went threw tires like no other....have the camber kit but havent installed it....I guess i've been paying more attention to my Tsi AWD haha it happens:D

Camber doesn't kill tires nearly as fast as toe. :thumb:
