new "turbo" intake manifold

i posted this on 2gnt also........

ok so i decided to build a new intake manifold targeted torward the turbo cars......... thanks goes to MB for this or i would not have built this thing. he said he needed it soon so i sat down and started thinking........ how can i make this better then my current manifold (which i now call my "N/A" intake manifold)......... and basically the outcome was shorter runners, a slightly different plenum design and larger plenum volume. ill have pics up within the next few days so u guys can check it out. i really like the way this thing turned out.:hellyeah:

Would you be willing to add more info about the intake? I mean, obviously it's aluminum. How many cu. in. is the plenum? Are the runners tapered? Have you pressure tested it?
 
Yeah looks good mike. I see you used the stock runners again for this design you just cut them before the curve on the "turbo" manifold unlike the "N/A" manifold. The ressed velocity stacks are nice too def keeping up with the big dogs with your designs.

213 cu in, the runners a slightly and i mean slightly tapered, 2-3 degrees or so from side to side, there isnt really a taper from top to bottom and no i havent pressure tested it. my manifolds have seen 32 lbs f boost on a few cars and they havent blow up yet, and those particular cars have runs 9's and 10's in the 1320.

Mark's statement is biased, and should be largely set aside. Mine, on the other hand, is unbiased. Everybody knows your stuff works, Mike. Don't worry about it.

Hey Mike,

I'm still pretty new to my DSM, (bought it 6 months ago). I was looking for an intake manifold that would give a good HP boost, but then I saw yours and was wondering if you were willing to make me one. Name the price, ship it, and that would be a done deal, but if not, no worries. I'm trying to go all motor and squeeze every bit of HP out of my 2G. Also, I'm not hearing good things about this OBX mani, so if any of you guys have heard of a good one, or at least a good-looking one, that would be great. Let me know guys!
 
Abe...look at the previous post. This thread is almost 3 years old now.

If you bought the OBX manifold, that was your first mistake. Waste of money. There are several modifications to perform before it really becomes a necessity to start altering the intake manifold.
 
If ## going all motor then this is the latest NA manifold for the eclipse that I have. Its going to give u a little better midrange then the turbo intake........
