If you have a NT, and have ever wanted to do some upgrades to your 420A, but don't know what will work, or where to get parts, i have some answers. From just asking the right people, and just working on it for a few minutes, i have made some realizations.
- If you have wanted to upgrade your clutch line, but no one seems to make it, here is your solution. Go to slowboy, or any vendor that sells the clutch line for a 2g turbo, purchase that, and go to any automotive store, and buy a steel line- 30 inches long will be plenty long, and make sure you get a japanese line. And unhook your old one from the master to the slave. And you have a new SS/hard line.
- The slave cylinder on the NT is the same as the turbo models. After working on the clutch line, I realized it is the same as a 2G turbo. Which is a plus because i happen to have a turbo slave cylinder to put on. My clutch is very light and mushy, but it does grab quickly.
-If you are looking to put on a new exhaust, such as a cheap ebay or a nice custom one, which ever, more than likely your exhaust bolts are rusted. So, you want to replace them, but where do you get them? Well, its turns out, that the 1g bolts are the same. Anywhere you can get 1g studs, you can get your 2GNT bolts. Hopefully, when you get rid of yours, you dont break any. Make sure you spray down first, and let them sit for 20 minutes. Another plus, is that you don't have to switch wrenches, since the stock bolts and studs are 10mm and 13 respectively. Now, with the new 1g studs, you will have all the same size. Make sure when you are screwing in the studs, use two nuts to tighten the stud down.
- Another thing that you might run into, is when you are putting your header on, the water pipe may get in the way. What i did to combat that, was get rid of the bracket holding the water pipe, which will allow it to be pushed down.
Im sure that when i keep working on my car, i will find more things to add to this list. Next mods are to be new motor mounts and redo-ing the headliner, and getting rid of the rust with POR-15.
