I'm looking to buy a new exhaust system for my 420a N/A and i was looking at a set of BBP headers on ebay. From what i read they are pretty decent for the price. I'm just wondering which is better, the usual cup and bolt assembly between the header and the down pipe or the flanged one that comes on the BBP header. I don't suspect there would be any difference but i figured i'd check it out before i go ahead and buy it. Any input on the set up or even on the BBP product itself (is it good or is it like pacesetter) would be great. thanks.:thumb:

Are you planning on purchasing a new exhaust all together, or just a header? I would just go ahead and purchase a new eshuast from the header back.

My uncle has a 2G n/t and he got his on ebay for cheap. Like somewhere around 300 bucks and it looks and sounds great. Not sure what the brand is, however, that would make your life simpler sticking with one type of flange rather than multiple. Plus, if you get one exhaust system, it SHOULD fit together nicely.

yah i went ahead and baught an entire new system. mine rotted out so i decided to go with headers which are a 4-1 design with a flange connecting the downpipe instead of the usual cup and bolt setup which comes stock. I purchased an entire BBP setup, from the headers to the muffler. don't think the high flow cat was BBP but from the same seller, so once it gets here and I install it i'll post some pics and say how it went for anyone who is still wondering about the ebay exhaust quality for DSM's. This is my first mod from stock, but definitely not the last.

Cool. Good choice. Much easier in the long run. How much was the whole system by the way?

i can't recall how much the system itself was but all together with shipping (all the way to Canada) it is gonna be $300 even. which is better then the 900 dollar stock replacement that the shop tried to get me to buy LOL. So as long as i get a bit out of this one until i decide what mods i'm gonna put on this car, i'd say i got my moneys worth...but if it breaks within a few months i'd be pissed...LOL but we will see.

$300 is a good price for everything. A lot of people on here have ebay exhaust/header and are quite happy with it. I am sure you will probably be as well. Assuming your exhaust is like most peoples, prepare yourself for a fun time getting all the rusted bolts and everything off. :D I ended up just cutting mine out. :thumb:

Actually the header was 80 shipped, even came w/ a free intake. Not sure what it fits though. It's not a 2G... The cat delete pipe was 20 shipped and the exhaust was 160 shipped.

Amazingly everything slid in perfectly, The flanges are all stock design. You can get gaskets at any parts store easily. The down pipe off the header is a slip fit with two nut and bolts. Super easy. I had more trouble getting the heat shield off than anythng.ROFL

I followed the trail of oil. I was shopping for a cover for the hot tub, and got side tracked. Still haven't found a cover. :D
