I have had my car sitting for the past year and a half now. When my other cars clutch went I needed to get this one up and running. it is a 1992 Mitsu Eclipse GS N/A. The problem I am having is it takes a while to start it, it will jerk around for about a second like it has fuel then nothing. Next it will start but slowly die. and by the third or whenever it wants to time it will finally start and run.
While driving when the motor is cold it is impossible to get above 4000rpm until it has properly warmed up and even then it will still do it but just not as bad. It seems like it loads up and bogs down. Before I replaced the Fuel Pressure Regulator, it would sputter a lot. Now I do not know if it matters or not but, my new regulator is from a turbo vehicle which I not know if this matters or not.
I have changed the oil, oil filter, recharged air filter, plugs (gaped correctly), wires, fuel pressure regulator, tried switching coil packs, new fuel filter, tested fuel pump, filled the tank with fresh fuel with sea foam and iso heat. Yet nothing seems like it has worked.
Since the car randomly studders while driving even after all the replacement things I have done, I am hoping it is just the bad fuel that is left in the tank which I will run till empty then fill it back up again.
Nobody I have talked to has been able to give me any idea on what could be the problem and I am getting pretty stressed out not knowing what the problem is.
