I have 450 cc injectors and a JR S-FMU . I was just wondering how will I run the lines from the SFMU when taking of the stock FPR from my 97 eclipse. I have seen that some people plug up the whole when taking off the stock FPR but then what? where does the hose of the SFMU connect to. Is it really necessary to take off the stock FPR?...

Yes it is necessary to remove the stock FPR. Otherwise you'll be running your stock 53psi of fuel pressure, but through your 450s, thus flooding the engine with gas and running super rich. That's the point of the SFMU, you can set a lower static fuel pressure in order to run the larger injectors, keeping your stock FPR in there negates that.

I don't have a 97 style fuel setup, mine's a 95 so I'm not completely familiar with where exactly your return and FPR are. But regardless look at your fuel rail. The fuel supply enters the rail on the driver's side at a 2-bolt flange connection. Just find wherever your fuel return line comes back out of the rail and that's where you put your SFMU. Take the return line off the rail and find a way to connect it to the bottom of your SFMU instead, then run another line from the side of the SFMU back to the fuel rail. I hope that helped.

-Thank Paul for the diagram

If your passenger side of the fuel rail is capped off, which is what I believe it is then your fuel setup is the bottom picture. So follow the line going into the fuel rail. And I believe the fpr is by the fuel tank.
You have to remove the fpr, so just take it out and if I were you i would mount the sfmu in the engine bay, but you will have to run new fuel line to do this.

ok I understand how you connect the sfmu because in order to install the SFMU i will have to take the other 12:1 vortech Fmu and i know the lines of the sfmu are the same as the sfmu.
The FMU I had installed it on the bottom of back passenger tire. I am just confused because the fmu that i have installed right now it has a in and out and the line that goes to the fuel rail well that lines if connected to the stock FPR. If I take the FPR off well where will the line of the FPR connect to. I dont know if I am making sense or not but here is a paint picture to kinda show you what I mean

Ok, here goes.

On the 97 (late model fuel system) there is no return line from the fuel rail. The "return" line is from the fpr (located under the car near the tank) to the top of the fuel pump access panel underneath the rear seat. It's about 1-1.5 feet long or so and you currently have your FMU hooked up between the stock fpr and the tank on that line (if done correctly). You will remove the fpr as well as the line going from it to the fmu and the line going from the fmu to the top of the fuel pump access panel.

Now to install the sfmu you will run a line from the test port on your fuel rail to the side of the sfmu. THen another line will be run from the bottom of the sfmu under the car all the way back to the tank where you just removed the stock line.

MS PAint pics coming up in a few :D

Not mine, but this is how the SFMU should be set up

Ok so here we go again. This is what your current setup should look like.

You are going to then remove the stock fpr (red) stock "return line" (black) and fmu (blue) as well as the line going from the fmu to the tank (black)

You will now have a line coming from the sfmu and it will attach on top of the tank where the current rubber line is that you will remove

The gray is the stock supply line going from the tank up to the fuel rail
THe red is the stock fpr with the line going from the fpr to the fmu and then from the fmu to the tank.

This is what it should look like after the sfmu is installed:

The black rectangle on top of the gray supply line is the bolt you put in place of the stock fpr. The blue line is the return line from the sfmu.

Hopefully my crude paint skills helped you somewhat.

the sfmu conects same as fmu ?

or it's a diferent im planing rebuild my engine and i have right now 12:1 fmu stock injectors and 255 walbo missing link can i get some info from you

i just want build my bottom end with je and eagle and run 10 psi do i have to change my fmu to sfmu or not what would be the fuel setup for 10 psi ?

The limits of a 12:1 FMU are 8psi. So, yes, you'll need an alternative method to control fuel. An SFMU would be sufficient. I'm not sure how your FMU is setup, or where it is. However, you would want your SFMU mounted in the engine bay. So, the best option for those without a return line coming off the fuel rail, is to simply create one.

i have 95 fuel system in my eclipse my fmu is mounted after stock fpr what would happend if i took my fmu off an put sfmu on that place is it relly nesesary to take of stock fpr ?

also can i just upgrade injectors only to 370cc and leave my 12;1 fmu where it is now if i want run 10 to 12 psi on built bottom end ?

Obviously you don't have 450cc injectors, but it's the same idea.
The ECU doesn't know when you put in bigger injectors, it always assumes you have the stock ones. So, when you put in bigger injectors you get way too much fuel.
As Chris said, you can't run larger injectors with a 12:1 FMU. Also, the limits of the 12:1 FMU is 8psi of boost, due to the extreme fuel pressures that are seen at 8psi.
