Ok 420a guys heres the 1st ? Ive done some searching but no luck on how the heck to remove the stock fpr 0n a 97 to retain the stock filter and run just the sfmu. The only thing i could find was on 2gnt and it wasnt all that clear to me on what to do,so some assistance would be greatly appreciated.
The next thing i need to know is this, I would like to run say 15psi safely the correct way with the sfmu on a daily basis but beable to run say 20-25psi on occation. What size injectors would you recomend, spring, disc, etc. I also have a safc that i can tune 2 maps with. Is what i want to do possible, by means of switching between two psi ranges and what not. So please give me your suggestions and what has worked for you. I will be getting the sfmu in june so i wanna start gathering up everything else i will need. And if i cant switch back and forth just let me know what set up i can use for any of the above said psi's. And yes i did check out the old threads about this but figured i try to see if theres any new info. Sorry for the lengthy post. Thanks Roy:dsm:

Just plug the return on the factory late-model FPR to disable it and keep it in place.

20+psi is (I believe) a bit much for an S-FMU to handle, I recommend you search around more to be certain.

The SAFC would only be used to "fine tune" the larger injectors for idle and off-boost driving, you won't need two maps. Once you build your fuel system to supply your high boost setup and get it dialed in, you can simply turn down the boost with your MBC/EBC, and the fuel system should act accordingly without further adjustment.

Ok thanks so just plug the hose/fitting on the stock fpr and just run a line from the end of the fuel rail to the side of the sfmu and then the bottom port back to the tank. WHat do i gotta do to beable to run 20psi? msns or can i just use huge injectors with the sfmu? Ill do some more searching just cant quite find a definitive answer

I think this was already stated in another thread, it's not the injectors and fuel control. It's the spark control that you need after 15-16psi or so. MSnS can control both fuel and spark, so if you want to push more then 15psi(ish) you'll need spark control. SAFC cannot do this either, you will need a DIS-2 spark amplifier and module for anything controlling spark...

Yeah i remembered that after i replyed to his answer. Anyway i read somewhere that the dis box didnt work in real time or something of that sort, is this true. Now if not true and does what its sapose to, if i have that than can i run more boost with the sfmu. I used to have a dis but had to sell before my install do to finacial probs. Thanks in advance

True, but anything above around 20psi and you'll need a CDI regardless: even with MSnS-E. At that point the stock inductor based ignition just won't cut it.

RSTeclipse97, the main problem with MSD ignition modules is that they're prone to failure when exposed to engine bay temperatures. My suggestion is to look into Crane ignition products. They're must hardier and proven for this application.

Ok last question for now, I cant remember where the other post was that had the info but if i had the dis and what not what injectors should i use with the sfmu to range from 15psi as a low and 20-25 psi high. Thanks again everyone

I ran 440's @ around 18psi idle fuel pressure w/ the sfmu and pushed close to 22psi of boost. That was w/ a S16G turbo. I wouldnt mess with more boost until you can tune better. I was nearing the max of the injectors. I mixed a bit or race gas in and didnt adjust timing.

ok thanks again. NXed2GNT, what spring disc etc were you usinf for this.
