Boring Out 2g 420A Throttle Body

I talked to Cimotorsports last night, they said that if you send in your TB they will return the existing parts to new, bore it out, and set idle. They also stated that they can usually send the TB back out the day that they recieve it. Sounds like the route I might be taking; they also match port the IM.

Ive read reviews on CI and they werent exactly all the best. A couple of the people had problems with the throttle plate not completely closing sp they were having idle problems. Some people have had good service so things might have changed or its just hit or miss with them. But, as others have said they are one of very few companies that support the 420a so you could try it out and see what happens.

i've dealed with them on purchasing a couple different items their service is awesome and very quick but i would recommend them :thumb: ill be sending my intake mani and throttle to them as soon as i can afford some downtime on my 420

It would work; I just never looked on the DSM page to see if he had that option. His DSM 420A option is just the same as his Neon service.

Want to add some CFMs to your motor ? It's generally accepted for most cars that a CFM increase of 10% will result in a gain of between 5 and 15 HP. Results will vary for each car and combo but one constant is that the improved throttle response will increase your grin factor by 100%

Basically, more airflow to the engine.

Yeah, there are alot of Throttle body threads going around right now. do a search within the past 2 months, I'm sure you'll find about 6-10 TB/Intake threads. To these 55mm TB's, to the ones being sold on ebay, to Jeep TB's and Infiniti Q45 3"TB's on custom IM.

WHo puts a 3" tb on a 420a :D

Boring out the tb isn't as important as matching the manifold opening to the tb opening because if either is a diffrent size especialy the tb then performance will actually be worse then stock. Most extreme I have seen with a stock manifold and tb is 60 and then you need to add material to the stock manifold.

Yes but it is recomended that you bore out the stock IM to utilize that full 60mm ;)

You don't technically bore it out; unless, of course, you add material to the IM throat (there is not enough material in the intake thoat). What you do is port match the intake to the 60mm TB and taper down from there.

And it is a helluva bump for that air to come down the 60mm TB and hit the step of the intake that hasn't been at least port matched.
