420A Videos

This thread is to share videos of your 420A after installing a new mod/on the dyno/at the track. Informative videos of you working on the car, or otherwise showing it off are also okay.

In accordance with DSMTuners.com site rules, there will be absolutely no videos of street racing. Let this post serve as a warning; violators risk infractions, suspension, and even banishment.

For those of you who didn't catch that:

NO STREET RACING

Try to upload your videos on YouTube, Google Video, or some other similar service. Don't forget to put tags on them like "dsmtuners" and "420a." Then, post the links to your videos here.

Hopefully this can serve as a helpful repository of 420A videos for new members to learn from.

I'm actually contemplating making a video of me doing a couple pulls in the car.

Anyways, this isn't much but it's something. My buddies wired my horn up to my brakes all while I was installing the turbo kit. I was doing some test runs to make sure I was building boost and my vacuum lines were all hooked up correctly. Little did I know...

I even put a couple up a little while ago. Figured Mark can't be the only all motor 2GNT videos out there... (I just prefer Google Video.)

Highway On Ramp after head install. circa 2005

In the above video, my friend John and I wrapped up the head install a day or so prior and had made a few top end runs out in the desert, but didn't have a camera with us, so we shot this getting onto the highway near his house one night. Fully-built with an AFX/R ECU running the show. Hard to see, but I was shifting around 7500rpm. The ramp was nice and long, so I don't get to the merge point until just after I engage the turn signal. We then coasted to the next exit and went back to the fort, as there was Jagermeister chilling.

Closed Parking Lot to Demonstrate GST Exhaust. circa 2005

In the above video, I have a Pacesetter 4-2-1, 33" Cherry Bomb glasspack (no cat), stock piping all the way back to a stock GST rear section. For the record, should anyone be wondering about the sound. This is what she sounds like today, although the stock ECU is dumb as paint and really dulls the performance.

The old girl still has some tricks left up her sleeve, though.

Hey I think that Original 1999 eclipse video was actually in 97. Thats how I have it listed on anothe site anyways.

However I could see how they could go from that awesome commercial in 99 with the last of the 2g's, onto the 3g's with the same type of commerical scheme

And not to get too far off topic but.... This is just too cool

Keep the 420a videos coming, less streetracing please.

Shadow- You should update your profile. I am curious as to what you are using for fuel set-up.

Is that your car running 12's? I'm having trouble believing it is because your gallery shows a red car. The video posted was black. Then the one at 16psi is red again. Don't know if that's still you or not. They are some nice runs.

Sorry, I got to update my profile. I've just been trying to keep you guys update while doing the things I got to do. And yes, it's the same car. I'll get more vids tonight and tomorrow. BTW, my set-up is completely new (finished early this week).

edit: Ok, I updated my profile, but I think I forgot some things. Also, if you look closely at the vid, you can see the hood of my car, which is red. Look by where that sticker is...

The black car is someone else's (that is running 12's). The first video of those 4 was AWDDYNAMITE's car. Shadow's car is the one at 16 psi.

Ran the Daily at our local dragday. Poor thing had 164k on her with motor mounts that actually let me feel the engine returning to position after the box shot . I had to granny shift cause she just couldn't take the speed shift. This set-up was 10.5 comp, w/crower2's and MSnS (NA of course). The 14.8 run was on the MP 60mm TB. Wanted to show the difference between the stocker and the 60mm.

Heh heh, think she needs some suspension ?

I do not own the camera. I was borrowing a buddies, and decided I would get some videos of the car while I had the opportunity. We normally don't drive like that, and only did so in an effort to impress the camera.

Also, since I now had raw video, I decided I would try my hand for the first time at some basic video editing. Not too shabby for being an inept Editor, if I do say so myself.

I've brought the engine above 3500rpm on only a handful of occasions since I have owned it. I drive like old Granddaddy Locke. I was shifting at ~6000 or so in that video. Who knows where Kramer was shifting.

Here is one of my runs this past weekend with my slicks for the first time. Slicks are the best thing i have ever bought second to the turbo. I just wish i could learn how to do burnouts with them! 12.2 i dont think is to bad though.

Man I'm not knocking him as he makes the most power out of any NA guy but dam I didn't think our cars were that slow. You beat everyone off the line with the slicks then it's just sad

Note: I think this is the most appropriate place for my question, once it is answered a mod can my delete post from the thread.

My camera records video in quicktime format. My video editing software only works with avi or windows media files. Can anyone tell me either A) a program I can download to convert the quicktime video to windows media, or B) free video editing software that is compatible with quicktime? I have several videos but they really need to be edited before I upload them to youtube and add them here.

I figured most people in this thread know a thing or two about video editing and could help me out. Thanks.

Or it can be deleted immediately, I understand, but it's worth a shot.

Windows movie maker, real simple. In fact if your using a windows based PC you should already have it.

P.S. What size are your slicks.

I'm looking for some that will fit over the GSX cailpers

Chris, dnld the latest DivX, it will come with a trial of the DivX converter. Drop the movie in there, and a it will spit out a nicely encoded (to your specifications) DivX file, (*.divx) that you can rename to *.avi if you need to.

edit: That is, if WMM won't handle quicktime. (I dont know)

Randy - I have Windows Movie Maker. But I tried opening the quicktime (.mov) files in it and it wouldn't work. But if there is a way and I just don't know how, please tell me how haha. And I don't think your slicks question was directed at me because I don't have any, sorry.

Locke - I think I DLed some DivX thing not too long ago, I'll try and open it up and see what I can do.

Thanks for the help guys, sorry for cluttering up the video thread.
