I was just wondering i have a internal dual watsegate for my 420a eclipse 97 and i am upgrading a turbo. well my question is the turbo has only one line for the wastegate to go but the waste gate has two and i dont know what i would do with the other line? i was thinking of either making a T and then just run that line to the turbo or just plug one of the line and leave one line to the turbo? i dont know if u guys can understand but if u do hit me up

Executive Summary

I currently have a turbocharged '97 420A Eclipse. I plan on upgrading the turbo in the near future, but I have a problem: I have a dual-port internal wastegate actuator, but my turbocharger only has a single vacuum fitting. I'm not sure how to properly plumb the vacuum lines to this particular type of wastegate. Does anyone know how to install such a wastegate? If so, please post your experiences!

I have no idea what you're trying to say...
How in the world did you ever make moderator? He said he's got two deals going to the one thing on the car not listed in his profile and he's upgrading the whatchamacallit to a new doo-dad and needs some freaking help figuring out to transmogrify the plumbing accordingly.

Sheesh! It's so simple!

EDIT:
Guess I would be remiss in my duties to not at least make some kind of attempt at answering the question. Personally, I've never heard of a dual WG flapper before. Any chance you could snap some pictures? This *is* for a 2GNT, you're talking about, right?

I've never seen that kind of wastegate before, but I'll do a little research (as should you) and see what I come up with.

Also, did you JB weld that fitting in? WTF

Thanks Brian, that just made my day a little brighter. :D

I see that the WG actuator is a dual-port setup (which is what the company advertises), and I see the extention rod and a single hinge to attach a flapper valve/door, but those photos don't show two separate WG fappers. Even if they are supposed to open in relation to one another, the photos don't show them.

I found these three links on the company's website:

Link 1
Link 2
Link 3

So my point is, it seems that the only thing that appropriately constitutes the term "dual" here is the actuator, which we've already made evident. From what I've read, the dual port actuator is supposed to give quicker boost response. (Click on the link below for a short read.) But I think it really comes down to spring rate and rod tension.

Here is a link with a little discussion on this topic.

well i actually did but the flange and the watsegate in tredstone performance but my question is like u said yes the only thing that constitutes the term dual is the Actuator. what i am saying is where does the other line from the actuator run to? what i am thinking but i might be wrong is to either make a T in the actuator and plug it to the turbo??

This is what i kinda mean

Here's where to go for more information:

It's just like a dual port external wastegate but in reverse. If anything, you can just connect the top port, and leave the bottom port open. Don't plug anything...
what will be the TOP PORT u are talking about?? are u saying that the one i have plugged up to unplug it?

actully used two welding materials i think one was jb from walmart =-D and the other one i forgot the name but i tried beating it with a hammer and it wont come off so its pretty hard =-)

The line that you currently have running to the turbo is fine. The port that you blocked should just be left open. Do not plug it.

will it be fine without a boost controller?
