Abbotsford,
Just received my OBX Intake Manifold...Anyone eles ever installed one of these?

Im REALLY REALLY hoping someone has done this before and can post some pics or ideas on how they made all their connections to thier after market intake manifold.

My observations so far:

The throttle body connection is no problem, everything connects right there.
As far as I can tell the fuel injectors will go in no problem.

BUT the MAP sensor, Power Brake, Intake Temp, and valve cover thingy that goes into it are gonna be a problem. Looks like Ill have to do some custom fitting re/routing etc.

Right now there are 4 holes along the back of the new intake manifold, 3 small one big (for power brake I assume)

Thanks!

I have one and its not worth it but whatever you wanna do is up to you. No real power gains. You will just have to run your pcv valve to the back and the only holes you have to drill and tap out are the map sensor and iat sensor. I had problems getting the injectors seated properly and ended up boring out the holes a little bit.

Meh, not too worried about power gains...After all its a non turbo. But DAMN it's gonna look sexy under the hood!!

If I use a "chip" that defaults my IAT sensor...I could get away with not using/tapping that into the intake manifold right?

I won't tap out for the EGR either, but I need to figure out how to stop the computer from throwing a code. Any ideas with having the complete EGR assembly removed?

Hmmm won't that be fun, injectors not seating properly!!! Any tips before I start ripping my hair out? Were you using your stock injectors, did you replace your o-rings?

Chip for the IAT? I've never heard of such a thing, and you probably want to retain the function of your IAT anyway. Temperature correction is an important feature in most climates.

The EGR you probably don't need. However, you'll get a CEL if you don't have it installed, and there is no way around this unless you at least tap the intake manifold (what I'm saying is, is that there are ways of disabling the EGR system, but you would still need to have the dump tube installed).

There's nothing more that I hate than blanket descriptions of products. "Will fit Eclipse 92-06." That describes more than four different types of cars, some with completely different engines. I advise against buying this; just install the IAT sensor.

My cels are off just buy the egr block off kit but still leave the hoses and everything for the egr in there. Keep the vacuum hoses for it attached and hooked up and your code wont come on. Do not do that "chip" for your iat. It is a resistor that you can get at radio shack. Just for referal there was a big arguement about this once if it offered real horse power increase, guess what it made our cars lose 1 horse. All it does is loop back a signal telling your car it is colder outside than it really is.

I have one did not install it because it needs that sensor that you see at the end of your stock manifold installed on the OBX as well, It really does look good though :)
I may get a shop to do it just for the heck of it one day.

Someone needs to spend less time on ebay looking to add hp.
