Msd Coilpacks!!!!!

Well just as promised, my msd coil pack went out. Or at least the lead to cylinder#1 doesn't spark anymore. So I was running on 3 cylinders for about a day. Now luckily because I knew this would happen I kept my stocker handy.

If your new, and haven't modded your coil pack, Don't! Stocker is fine, but if you do upgrade go straight for the screamin demon from howellautomotive.com

Well you'll notice that your gas mileage is going down, or atleast you'll wonder why. Then you go out with a friend and wonder why your car sounds different, and sounds like a subaru. And then you'll think its something terribly wrong like you washed the rings out or bent a valve. But then you check it, by pulling the spark wires and seeing if they are getting spark, and realize that your running on 3 cylinders.

If you can find a replacement now so your not introuble when it does. Its been at least 10K with this coil pack.

Bigrand, I can see were you are comming from. That must have sucked to have been worried that something BIG had happend. But I have had brand new Stock Coilpacks go out on me after 1-20K miles before. But I do have to agree that the MSD's seem to go out quite early. And unless your pushing major HP numbers a after market coil should not be on your list of main mods.

Heheh. Sounds like fun. Funny thing is I got mine just as a safety valve for running up the RPM's (with the stocker having over 140k on it). But, like everything I mod, I saved the stocker so I'll be good to go. Sorry Paul, that's one I gotta hold onto .
