not sure of the kind got it off ebay but i installed it right i mean its not that hard but yea....i put it on and the same stuff happens when i take it off i will run all right til it hits boost then it starts bucking

Sounds like a POS FCD. I'd get a better one...

I usually make them for N/T members, but I won't have another batch ready for another few weeks.

Thats wierd guys cus I had bought a missing link of jess98gs, its the synapse filtered type. I installed it and it made my car run like crap so I took it back off and the car ran great even when I go into boost. So with out any type of missing link or anything my car goes into boost no problem at all!!! Is this bad to run without anything or will it be ok ??

Matt, Clean the missing link out with carb cleaner. They are known for getting dirty and sticking causing the map sensor to read poorly and the car to run like POOP....LOL

yea thats what i was say and everone that i have talked to well i just put my turbo kit on like 2 weeks ago and just last sunday night i was on my way home and i had got on it and i was at 8 pounds then for sum reason it spiked to 10or 11 and fried my rings in piston number 1 it really sucks!!!!

Anyone know how to install a missing map sensor?

Old post, but at least you apparently searched. Plus thanks for bumping it up b/c my car idles shitty and I never even thought that I may just need to clean out my ML.

The missing link is pretty much the easiest thing to install ever. You unbolt the MAP sensor from your intake manifold. (look all the way on the passenger side of the manifold, it's a little sensor bolted in with two bolts. Unbolt it, put the missing link in its place, put the map sensor into the top of the missing link and install with the new hardware. Takes 5 minutes.

I never once had any trouble go from vac to boost at all

have you ever replaced your ecu? how can you not have a problem going into boost?

I have actually heard of this happening to a few people, where the ML made their car run like shit, they took it off and the car ran fine even in boost. Nobody's been able to explain it as far as I remember, but it has happened. On some 96's it's been explained away saying they were built in 95 so they don't need it but on 97+ who knows.

Hey mine does that with the fcd, I'm thinking about getting this missing link. My car does same thing as matts98 eclipse. I can boost 7-8 psi easy. With out going lean but it still hits fuel cut. I made sure everything was correct on the FCD install. So i had to take it off. Any one else know of any other routes to take? I'm thinking about going ms.
