I need help Installing the Vortech 12:1 FMU someone on here gave me a dfiagram but I still dont really get it...cause I have a 99 with the FPR in the rear by the tank....where the hell do I put this FMU? do I have tobuy 4an line to hook it up or does it hook up to the factory lines? I need in detail directions.

you can use the stock fuel lines.

P.S. Paul get out that diagram sketch thingy you have.

Oh wait.....stolen......

NOTE: this isn't my diagram, thank paul aka velocitaPaloa

You want configuration number 2 w/out the fuel return line.

Thief! :p Open source diagrams FTW. haha.

Use your stock lines, and splice the FMU exactly where the diagram shows you to... it should go on the return line between the stock FPR and the fuel tank. Pay attention to which side of the FMU you hook up to the return line - the nipple on the side is the IN port, and the one in the middle is the OUT port. If you get it backward, it won't work the same.

You should be able to just cut the line and connect the FMU to each end. You'll need to mount it back there by the fuel tank. Chris bolted his directly to the passenger compartment floor by drilling a few holes and using some 1/4" bolts. After that, just run a vacuum line up to the engine bay and tap into the vacuum source of your choosing. If you don't think you'll have enough stock fuel line, you can always buy a length of 1/4" fuel injector hose from Discount/AutoZone/PepBoys for a few dollars. Good luck.

God no... dropping the fuel tank is probably one of the most unnecessary things to do with these cars. There is a fuel tank access panel under the rear seat, and all of the fuel lines are in plain sight.

You should be splicing the FMU into rubber hose. The hard line is obviously much harder to work with. Just look for the portion of the return line that's rubber.

Well I see the acsess door under the seat but I have 2 holes I'm assuming one is the pump and the other is the sending unit? So to install the fmu should I be going through those holes or just splice it in from the bottom of the car? I dont think there is much room under those acsess panels to mount that fmu. so Im thinking it should go somewhere near my fuel filter

You are correct. Mount it from under the car.

I was merely stating that there is no reason to drop the gas tank in most all cases.

Oh Okay I see what you're saying. I do have to change the feul pump too so I will have to get in the tank. which opening is for the fuel pump?? the one in the middle of the tank

The opening over the passenger side rear seat is the access panel for the fuel pump.

Venting your wastegate is a decision you'll have to make after careful research. The pro's and con's have been discussed before, so you'll have to search to find them.

Ok so I serched the atmospheric dump and all that but I cant find much about the 420a wastegate dump. does any one have a sound clip of a 420A with the wastegate dumping to atmosphere? Does it sound like an exhaust leak?

when i first got my car done it was vented to the atmosphere. it sounded like crap because i had my wastegate always open a little bit so it sounded like there was no exhaust at all. i redid it and sounds a ton better. i'd assume that it would be way loud when your wastegate opens though...
