Ok, I have a 91 Talon ESi AT, When I let my car sit, in park running, when I get in and rev it bluish white smoke pours out of my muffler. I have a cat back, but it was done professionally. I thought it may be a head gasket, but now I'm not sure because if it was that, the smoke would be primarilly white. Once I'm driving however, its fine and my emmissions are totally normal. What do you think is causing this?? Help please. Oh yeah, and please no "buy a turbo" or "sell the car" responces, that doesn't help. :thumb: Thanks

could be valve seals. not sure. How many miles do you have on it? it might be time for a rebuild.

if it does it when you are sitting still it is one of two things.. piston rings or valve seals.. try valve seals cuz that's cheap and if that don't work than more than likely its ur rings and that will get very expensive

How much are piston rings? I have no clue. I think I'm looking at a complete rebuild soon, so maybe I should just try to sell it and start looking for a 1g turbo. I'm not sure though cause I really love my car. Its my first car and I truely don't want to get rid of it.

its not the rings that cost money its the labor. when i had to get new ones for my 91 teg they wanted 1200 for it...

My sisters fiancees dad is a mechanic. I should be able to get the work done cheep, but he's kinda dumb when it comes to imports. Hes worked on my car in the past, but nothing major like this. Is this something I need a "engine specialist" shop to work on or can just about any certified mechanic perform this work?
