Whys my car doin this?

Ok my car seems to run fine except for when im trying to excelerate very fast and around 5k rpm's it makes this like almost backfiring or no back presure sound and (rapidly) the tack will go up and down to like 5100 to 5200 back and forth and wont climb???
wtf is wrong with my car...besides the(pos n/t)

Does your car have an automatic or manual transmission?

check your plugs and wires.
Then have the psi on your fuel pump tested to
make sure it's putting out the proper psi.
also if you have a cat on your car make sure the stuff inside
hasn't clogged it. That happened on my brother inlaws dodge truck.

sounds like it could be yor coil pack. get a voltometer and test it.

im pretty sure those platinum plugs need to be gapped. when did u install them? u may have gapped them wrong. i know that would make it idle like shat. also could be your cat all clogged up like stated above.

yes, go back to ngk.. it's best to use what came stock with the car.. the platinum plugs are just a bunch of bs

incorrect. I use Bosch Plat4 in my Cougar and my wives Eclipse
I always check but they are always pre gapped.

well guys i took my car out the other day and it was doin it liek usual i got so pissed off , i left it in second and for to about 65 and tacked teh #@%#@%#@%#@% right out of it and ait mad a big farting noise.. so i stoped to see if i had roasted the lil 420@ and when i went to take off i spun threw 1s and into second for the first time in a while... wtf its still doin it but jsut at a higher rpm...

Ah, either way, platinum plugs are highly over-rated... they're just not ideal for DSMs.... stick with the NGK... they work

I have the same problem...but with an automatic tranny. Would the problem be any different? It seems like the car wants to stop accelerating after 4800 RPMS.

Well that's utter crap. Sure they are gapped but unfortunately its usually not to the size you want and usually not all the same. Always ALWAYS check the gap before installing plugs.

i recently have suffered from this same problem. I went out and bought ngk plugs and made sure they are properly gapped. whoever tells you not to gap your own plugs is a dumbass, they are guaranteed not right. This solved most of the problems but i also picked up some msd wires because i found that dsm's have a problem with the spark grounding early. try the plugs which should be properly gapped by now and if that doesnt change things, make sure your wires are still good.

Well eclipsechild seems like a dumbass, it has to be the valves are messed up, the valves have carbon deposits on them, take your car to the dealer, they'll solve everything.

no no...it has nothing to do with that .... ITS THE SPARK PLUGS THEY NEED TO BE GAPPED.. i had the same problem he had... and no dont take your car to the dealer because the dealer overcharges people... go to a mechanic close that u trust...

ya, this guy with the supposively gsx is from silverdale which is an hour away from my house, he has a gs, its a piece of sh!t, he cut the damn exhaust off at the header cause he's and idiot. dont listen to anything he says about this cause he has no idea, he takes his car to the dealer like a #@%#@%#@%#@%#@% cause mommy pays for it. i'd like to hear back from the starter of this thread though and see if the spark plugs being improperly gapped was the problem. If he reads this, be sure not to re gap spark plugs after theyve been used, i hear it does no good, might just be hear say.
