thanks ALOT! loosk like a mod I may be able to get done next weekend.

All this knowledge about the 2G NTs and your not a wiseman? I wiseguy yes, but a wiseman no? :p

how much does it effect your to speed? What speed do you start to notice thats its slower.Because if you doing a 1/4 mile race wouldnt u need that top speed?

unless you're doing 12's, then i don't think you'll need that much top speed. auto's go about 130 so that's 10-11 second quarter mile speed. my bike did 12.6 in the quarter at 124 mph. i had a bad launch but my skinny ass made up for it!!!

well when does the final gear mod start to affect the top speed?around 90mph, 110mph, ect............If i was at a roll doing 50mph and raced someone would the mod make it slower or faster?

Once you get above about 100 then the auto regardless of the gears just doesn't have much left in it unless you take it out of overdrive and like running over 5,000 rpm for 30 secs or more which I don't. So it didn't really matter.

Simply put... it gives you a nice bump off the line and takes away a little from the top end which already sucks. As for the drag strip racing... I might be able to get out of second gear but not fast enough for much more so it doesn't really matter about final gear top speed since it would require another couple miles to achieve it.

Hey doug is it true what everyone on 2gnt.com says, that it peels out from a deap stop and chirps into 2nd gear? And on a scale from 1-10 how hard was the install?

Um, no. They are smoking crack and not sharing.

From a dead stop on the stock tires it will at least chirp. But I've been running the GSX 17's for over a year and the gears went on about 6 months ago. Very small amount of chirp in 1st if that. VERY small.
Chirping second... lay off the crack.

For me it was about a 1.5-2.0 (read sig)

For others look to be around the 3.0 range for technical aspect and about 8-8.5 on the brute force range for torquing the gear bolts.

When i do the mod to my car im going to have to get some real good crack so that way i can think im chirping in 1st and 2nd gear, and who know maybe if i smoke enough i can chirp into 3rd and 4th too

my bad.i meant the guys on dsmtalk.com under the automatic tranny forum

Yeah, see... I don't go there or to 2gnt so I don't know who is saying what or if they are beleiveable. I have track times and don't really brag about it being fast or anything because it's simply not. I'm just making it better than what I started with.

hey thats why your a cool guy though.I hate the people that say something works better than it does or they run a 15 sec 1/4 with just a intake.

I try to be realistic. Plus... if I say it's ok and you think it's awesome... then you're even happier. If I say it's the bomb and you think it sucks... your even more upset cause one it sucks and two I said it was good.
In this case being realistic it's worth the money but not worth double the money.
