My car has been losing a steady amount of coolant over the course of the past week. I'll fill the reservoir up and a couple of days later it'll be almost empty. All my hoses are tightened plenty and I'm just wondering what's up.

Thanks for any help... :dsm:

Is the car overheating? If it is, your coolant overflow tank is prolly dumping what it cant hold down the excess tube to the left of the tank.

Maybe you have a small hole in your radiator from a rock...?

No, the car doesn't seem to be running hot but I'm not letting the coolant get down to the extent where I think it would be...I dk, but I just want to get the problem diagnosed so I can stop worrying about it...

pressurize the system and check for leaks...any shop can do it for you if you can't

Yeah, one of my girl friends just had the same problem on her 96 Accord V6. The shopped pressurized the system and found no leaks in the system itself, thus the problem was her water pump. She got it fixed (400 in parts and labor), and has been cool and drip free ever since.
If it is your water pump, and you don't feel like paying the labor, I'm sure there are tons of people on here who could walk you through it.

One other thing I wanted to ask, before you noticed the leak, did your car heat up properly inside.(vents and stuff) or was it always just warm, and never hot.

Did you check both hoses? maybe one of them has a hole in it somewhere?

i had a huge problem with my coolant and heres what i found. my leak was in the little 5/8's heater hose. there are 2 of them one above your heat shield and the other to the drivers side next to your block. you will not see any coolant if the one over the heat shield leaks cause it evaporates on the shield.

you also want to check your thermostat. if it locks closed you will lose fluid through overflow.

good luck

I believe you can see the resedue, i remember i could see it i just didnt know what it was at the time, then i figured it out. This resedue was all over the hose at the bottom of it and all over power steering pump. Just check the hoses man, it might as simple as just replacing them and you'll be all good :thumb:
