AFX ecu or Nitrous?

Alright, well the time has come for my next big mod. So ive been looking into the AFX ecu, since i have a 97, and a zex wet kit. I dont know which one will be better for me. Im going to turbo my car this summer( all the stuff is sitting im my room waiting to be put on but its to dang cold here). Will the ecu help alot when its turbo'd or will it just help while im n/t? Also would it still be safe to run the nitrous once the turbo kit is on? Im rebuilding the bottom end before i put the kit on, so i can run mor psi. So i really dont know where to go from here.

nitrous nitrous nitrous. dont get the af/x ecu if your gonna boost, not a good combo. if your gonna rebuild the bottom end before you turbo, then you can run the turbo and nitrous at the same time. if you dont, you could still rig up the nitrous to be an intercooler sprayer if you wanted. Zex wet kit is nice
 
kit then nitrous kit, it will give your more hp per $$.

The afx ecu can be ran with a turbo no problem. It does advance timing, but it also takes away the factory fuel cut rev limit and replaces it with a higher ignition cut revlimiter. Boost + fuel cut = lean which then = detonation. this is why most turbo neons use an afx ecu.

i ran the afx ecu with a 75shot no problem. went thru about 5 bottles.

no if your gonna get anything get a MSnS(Dr1665 you have everyone soliciting it here now). a nearly full stand alone for $390. you can controll fuel and ignition maps, along with rev limiter and other stuff.
 
does the AFX ecu adjust to the different mods that you put onto your car? Would you guys recommend buying it if i'm not going turbo? Should i buy it before or after: (exhaust, header, throttle body etc.) thanks for any help

the ECU is the last of your worries, just stick to the simple mods for now
 
are your cam gears tuned?if not i would tune them first.since you already have a turbo kit i would hold out for something a little more tunable instead of the afx ecu.maybe a safc or the megasquirt system every one is talking about.but first i would open up more air into your engine ie;bigger tb and p&p your intake manny,then you would really take advantage of your nitrous system.do yuo have an underdrive pulley? if not go and get one yesterday man,after the cai,the next best mod for our cars in my opinion is definatly the afx udp.well just throwin em out there.peace.

Yeah i have an underdrive pulley, its up sitting in my room with the rest of my stuff waiting to be put on. I think that ill hold off on the nitrous and get a safc. Ok now what size throttle body would let me take the most advantage, 60mm? or bigger? Im going to have the intake manny ported and polished while im re building the bottom end, but i need to know which size throttle body to get first, so i can have it matched. As for my cam gears, i havnt had them tuned yet, so there pretty much just there doing nothing right now. I was going to wait to tune them after the turbo is put on, or should i go do it now?
 
What's the hesitation on the gears? They are adjustable for a reason. You can readjust them at will! 60mm TB, match port TB, and HEAD side.
