Ok, my check engine light came on a while ago and I took it to autozone and they told me I don't have the connection to have it hooked up to their computer thing, I call BS because I know eclipse's have it so should I take it back and find a different guy that knows what he's doing , because the guy that I first asked when we got outside said "woah what kinda car is this?", I was already pissed so should I try again with someone that knows thier shit?

yes in 96 all cars changed to obd2 your a 97 so for shure have an obd2 system they scan obd2
go back and if they say they dont scan your car say it is obd2 ALL cars go by obd2 they dont scan any cars wtf?

i have obd2 and im a 95 or so i think . Do the keydance thing ... turn the car to accesories then turn it off . then turn it on then off , then turn it on again .. then the cel will flash . It will flash in a sequence .... mine went is blinking 2 in a row , then 1 . and a 21 is a bad o2 sensor . which sucks . it will end by flashing 5 times .

Kinda the same thing with me this past week. I had the check engine light on and I fixed the problem. What I needed was for someone to reset the computer to turn off the light so I could pass my emissions test. I talked to the guy from Autozone on the phone twice and he said come on down, no problem. I went there and they tell me its illegal to do it. WTF? I don't mind it being illegal, I can understand but why tell me over the phone its ok? Bastards. Fortunately I got friendly with a guy at one of the local Big O Tire places around here and he reset it for me no problem.

some people at these autozones are stupid. Its not illegal if you have fixed the problem.I know this because I work at autozone ,and the obdII plug is on the bottom of the dash on the drivers side.Right of the steering wheel.Back to the the first question yes they can check your code, just talk to there manager instead he or she will know what they are talking about hope this helps :dsm:

All 2Gs are OBDII. It was among the first cars to be saddled with it.

There's something about the keydance not working on 2Gs?

Thank you Definat, Every Parts Place around here says they can't do it becuase it is a '95 but I just went to Autozone showed them where it was and got it checked finally.
