I am a proud new owner of a 92 laser. I have chopped the canister around the air filter and installed a kn air filter. Im thinking about doing a new intake kit instead. What kind should I get and since I hacked the canister will that make a difference.

I think hacking the intake may help a little bit but your not gonna see a dramatic change in power, its just gonna help the car breathe a little better. Do you have the 2.0 n/t or 1.8? If you have the 2.0 i think you should get the Injen intake, this is what i have and im very happy with it, if its the 1.8l im not really sure what they have on the market for them, your best bet is ebay.

I have a 2.0, Im not a mechanic by any means but Im willing to do work. Ive read the posts on hear about intakes not fitting and how much work people do. i would be willing to make a cai if someone could give me more info. If not how hard is it to get the normal intake in.

The short ram intake from Injen is fairly easy to install, just remove the old one and put the new one in its place, but make sure you use your stock MAF because your gonna need that, it comes with instructions too.

Do what i did for a cold air intake, look at my gallery. Get some PVC piping, or go to a shop and get some mandrel bent piping for a CAI setup. The worst part of it is to cut the whole by the fender to make it bigger so you can support a cold air intake. also you have to take out the stock Intercooler to make room for the air filter in that space. My CAI came from the idea of Mike1992 on dsmtuners, mine is much like his except half of my intake is metal and PVC. I hope that gives you some ideas,
