another exhaust thread, but i really need help

I, like many people with their first car, went a got an ebay N1 style muffler and put it on my car. I did know enough to get 2.5" piping from the cat back, but the muffler sounds like ass. I have dealt with it for a while now but it is getting out of hand. I have got a little money saved up and I need a new muffler. I have look at alot of things, but i cant make up my mind...SO, I need just a muffler. It need to sound good at high RPM's and I need it to be as quiet as possible at idle and light throttle. Any help is apreciated.

P.S.
I know about the Apex WS and the RS*R, but i really only want to get a muffler.

well just watch out, if u dont spend the money you wont get what you want, i know the whole 300 or more is alot for a muffler, hell i dont even have one yet, but im saving the money so that i can buy quality not bargin, Patience is a virtue. best of luck to you

If you want just a muffler, and don't want to spend $300 on Remus(even though it does sound sweet and is very high quality) then I'd suggest Flowtech Afterburner. I got mine for $57. It's a chambered design but flows pretty good and has a nice sound to it. Ask your local Autozone or performance shop about them. I got it with a 3A racing single outlet 3.25" tip and I think it looks pretty good. But that's on a 1g Laser. I also got a 2.5" inlet cause I had planned on goin with 2.5" piping but I never did so it's just the muffler with an adaptor. Anyways. I'd recomend the Afterburner with the inlet that fits your stock piping with a nice looking dual outlet tip for the stock appeal. Just be sure your there when they put it on with the tip so they put the tip where you want it. Hope I helped.

Is this sound at high rpm's very loud and ricey? Mine was like that after an ebay muffler on my 2.5" catback and I simply had a long resonator welded in and it fexed it all sounds amazing!

^^^that is exactly what it sounds like. After about 3500 RPM is sounds buzzy. I am curious to which company made yours. Mine was "RS type." How loud is yours at idle and below 3500 RPM. Thanks

Before the resonator i'd pull out the drive way and brmmeeeeeeeeee and now just brmm nice n deep nothing ricey at all never to loud either like b4. Its your exhaust is too loud and makes a sound note of a honda I simply suggest the resonator

Thanks man. I think this might be the route i will go. The muffler has a nice deep tone the entire time, its just that about 3500-4000 RPM it has a buzzy sound along with the deep sound. I will prolly call some muffler shopes around town and check some prices. Thanks a whole lot.
