Junk Electric Supercharger [Merged 1-7] bogus ersatz spurious crap
http://www.electricsupercharger.com/
Anyone used this? They claim 5-15 HP gains...even on an already compressed intake system. 1-3 pounds of boost from an electric fan for $300. Let's hear it, anyone got one, anyone got pics? Howabout dyno test scores? The ones on the web site look good...but they ARE selling it.

First off...I just got a stupid private message from a real idiot that aparently is so macho he can berate people that back him up...so I'm out for blood.
::Rant Mode ON::
DON'T TELL ME YOU THINK THIS IS CRAP...Unless you bought one and tried it yourself!
I don't care about the guy that know's your brother's friends roomates cousins moms doctors hairdressers brothers car that has one. I want first hand experience! Please...I don't want to but a 15Lb turbo on my car, it's already fun...I just want that little extra pep and I DON'T want to waste a bottle of N2O every week...
::Rant Mode OFF::
So If YOU have one or if you have seen one in use...personally...I'd like to know...If you have it, and it's crap, return it. If they won't take it, Send me a message, maybe I'll take it off your hands at half price.

umm i might be lost here, but dude are you trying to say this thing is worth it? look at the tornado.. its junk too no matter what thier site says.. go to speedoptions.com he have had many posts about it where people who bought it and said it was junk.. some say on a all stock car it helped a tiny bit.
but look at what the tornado claims.. to swirl the air coming in to mix and burn better.. by the time the swirled air hits the runners it wont be swirled no more.. them things are junk..

I don't think the tornadoair and the e-ram are the same (are they?) cause the tornado is just some sort of fan whereas the e-ram is "foced induction" =/

wow that was a fast reply no i think the e-ram has a k&n air filter, then 1 or 2 fans that are activated by a "nos type switch". it then takes the electricity from your battery i believe and blows air. But yes i agree if it worked, everyone should have one. Stilll noone is willing to try it...

Yeah Dude, it is great
Yeah man, just get that electric supercharger, The Tornado air intake sustem, a Pep-Boyz APC intake along with that Pep-Boyz Neon light exhaust tip and you'll get 100HP to the wheels.
Add some blue wiper nossels and shot some nawz into the electric supercharger and you'll run nines.
All of this of, course, is a waste of money and late night infomercial crap, save your money.

someone should hack their website and put in a 'testimonials' page that points to all the threads that tell everyone why NOT to buy that garbage...

They have this on ebay and it looks like it wont work. Does anyone have one. Does it really help or am I better off using the $35 for beer?

Is it an E-Ram? If it is you will get 1-5 HP from it. Not the 15-35 they claim. You will notice a small difference at WOT but it's not worth more than $50 bucks to me.

THis thing is a piece of junk. Don't waste your money on this ridiculous contraption. You'd be better off taping a hair dryer to your intake. (Don't do that either)

i am pretty sure what you are talking about is one of those electic fans you put on a intake pipe, i think that they are actually a bs kinda thing, in other words they really don't make any boost. a REAL supercharger doesn't use a cbv

I think that it's rather unfair of you to compare a simple mod like the PC-fan supercharger to something as fancy as methane injection. Of course the latter provides more benefit.

Depends on heh type of supercharger used...Roots type blowers, or screw type blowers dont really compress air as a turbo or a centrifugal S/C does...they just force more air into the cylinders...BUT a Turbo or a Centrifugal S/C they compress air...you dont really need a BOV on a Centrifugal S/C but some companies like Vortech do offer them for their kits...

Re: do those electric superchargers use bovs?
No. They have the approximate capability of supercharging as you do in sticking your dick out the window to fu(k the world. Merry Christmas.

There was some research into this a while ago. Most of the "electric superchargers" you see advertised are _really_ terrible. There is one on the market that I know of that does provide about +5 extra ft-lbs of torque down low, it uses a very strong electric aircraft engine, and a well designed ducted fan, and it does have actual results. But, eventually the car sucks more air than even that fan can provide, and the benefits are gone. A good deal of the benefits seen by any "electric supercharger" are from changing your intake (usually making it bigger to fit whatever contraption).
A supercharger can take on the order of 10's of horsepower to operate. This is around the 10,000 range of Watts. At 12 volts, that means you'd need on the order of 1000 Amps to drive this motor.
You all know how much drain on the electrical system our starter motors take. A starter motor only draws about 200 amps maximum! So... You'd need the electrical power of five starter motors to drive this supercharger that would make any power and/or pressure at all.
That, and superchargers don't need BOVs anyway though some do use them (I'm not exactly sure why, not as well versed in supercharger-ese)

These are a piece of garbage. All it will do is be an obstruction in your airflow. It's a scam. Don't buy one.
