does anyone know who makes 4-2-1 headers besides pacesetter? I am sold on these headers since they give better low - mid range power (where we need it), just wondering if anyone besides Pacesetter selles them

Whats wrong with pacesetter? Mine works great. I know its cheap, but it works so who cares?

I'd rather go w/the Greddy 4-1 headers for better top end power. :D

I saw where AEM bought or bought into DC Sports. AEM won't put out shitty stuff. :thumb:

I didnt know if DC made stuff for the Eclipse or not, but I REALLY didnt know they got bought out. Let me know how you like the header.

yeah, Let me know how it works, I was checking out the obx ceramic coated header also, but it's a 4-1, no need for top end power, need more low end power

how did the pacesetter bolt up, I heard sometimes it doesn't line up right

I just checked out the header. It says that it may change colors. I always heard ceramic coated headers didn't change colors. Kinda sucks. It does say to clean with detergent and water b4 running. I guess they make the color change statement so if people leave fingerprints on there, etc.

I am installing it tomorrow. I'll know how it feels/sounds tomorrow. I have a CAI, high flow cat, and custom mandrel bent dual exhaust. I also have 1 range hotter plugs and wires (like that really makes a ton of difference). Anyway, the car is auto. I hope it adds some decent numbers in the mid range and low end. :thumb:

The DC sports is too close to the fan. I haven't heard it yet or driven the car. It's still jacked up until I have a solution for the close fitting. I don't want metal and metal vibrating when I drive. :thumbdown Right now, it looks as if the header will have to come off and be returned.

What exactly is the difference between 4-2-1 and 4-1 headers? I mean, i know 4-2-1's are bottem end, but how are they designed different, the pipe thickness or what?

4-1 starts out as 4 pipes, then merges into 1.
4-2-1 starts out as 4 pipes, then merges into 2, then merges into 1.

I ended up taking my radiator brackets off and drilling new holes. I fit the radiator in tighter and now the header clears. It sounds pretty smooth now. I like it personally. It's not raspy, just pretty loud. It doesn't add huge gains that I can tell. (I haven't driven the car in 2 weeks b/c I was waiting on my valve cover) The pull is pretty nice though throughout the entire powerband. I notice that it pulls a lot stronger all the way through, even on top end. The fastest I have gone is 80, b/c cops are out bad for some reason around here. This was in a 70 zone. For $270, this is a good mod. It makes the car pull a lot smoother. :thumb:

ud be better off with a 4-1 header..more top end power, on my vtec p-lude i hardly noticed a difference with a dc 4-2-1....i put a kamakazi 4-1 header on and WOW!! wat a difference it made..definately get a 4-1.

The stock manifold is 4-1. I can't see the point in buying a 4-1 header for the 420A besides for the look. My car has gains all through the powerband. I didn't dyno, but I have heard that 4-2-1 does that. You can feel the car pulling harder on take-off and just building up. The higher RPMs are also really nice compared to before. It's a matter of preference. Our cars just need mid range power, and this did the trick for me. It needs more still, but this helped substantially.

The stock exhaust manifold is actually not that restrictive at all, so when your lookin at 4-1 or 4-2-1 you talkin a difference between 5 and 6 horsepower MAX. i got a killer deal on a pacesetter 4-2-1 for $50 so i did it mostly to say i have a header and it looks better and sounds better too. i have to say, i felt a lot of gain at the low rpm's but like i said, its not that less restrictive than stock so whether you have a 4-1 or 4-2-1 its not gonna make much of a difference in the higher rpm's.... a little but not a whole lot. Now... what DOES make a difference is the way the header is manufactured. internally ceramic coated headers do wonders for performance, but they are expensive as hell and youd be better off saving up and getting a turbo kit....... wow i think i just bored myself. i commend whoever read that whole thing....LOL.

hopefully im not off subject..but i have a quick question.. i have a 95 eclipse gs and wanted to put some dc sport headers.. should non turbo cars get the 4-2-1 or the 4-1, cuz the only performance mod i got on the car so far is jus an aem cold air intake..

you can get either, its actually personal preferencae, 4-2-1 = better low end, 4-1 = better top end....now get out there and mod that dsm! :p
