Added a muffler...and having second thoughts.

Well, my friend talked me into it and talked me into it and talked me into it and finally I caved in and ordered a muffler though his work and had him install it. It's not too bad. The muffler itself is 150 bucks, but I got a sweet deal and got it for 120 installed. Stainless steel, dual 3 1/2" beveled tips. Looks great. Unfortunately, to make it fit, we had to kinda cant it slightly to the side, because it was too long to fit straight in. My mechanic friend welded it on nicely with all new hangers and it's on there real nice. Looks good on the car, and sounds pretty bitchin'. Real deep, real throaty, with only a touch of rasp at high RPM's.

But that's part of the problem. It's loud enough that it's making my trunk lid, and some of my interior panels buzz. ANNOYING. But that's only during acceleration up through my power band while I'm on the gas. Once I'm at a cruising speed, the thing practically disappears except for a faint drone...which CAN get old after a while, but I just turn up the tunes and all's well with the world. It seems like it's given my car a bit more pickup, probably since I'm now taking full advantage of my aftermarket intake. But I do have a few questions about it now.

1) Is there any good, inexpensive way to make the buzzing STOP?
2) Can I expect any drawbacks with a higher flow muffler? Any damage to the engine? Decreased gas milage?
3) Would adding a high flow cat make the thing louder? And worse, would it remove too much backpressure from my sysem?
4) If I were to add a silencer to my centerpipe, might that solve all my woes?

Sorry for the rather ignorant questions, but I'm just not sure...figured someone here might know.

Yes the rattling, i dont thing there is a piece in my interior that doesnt rattle LOL. it does get a little annoying, but i got used to it. the passanger airbag cover is the worst tho. just enjoy your new muffler, and wake up everyone you can with it.
