I have a 1996 Eclipse RS. What speed do they max out at completely stock? I have a few minimal mods done to my engine, and I'm saving for a OEM turbo at the moment, but I was just wondering what the top speed was for you guys without any mods.

130 -140 you should be able to reach i hit 135 with just cold air intake a couple of years ago then hit 140 after a little more work after i get my new ecu and my current mods i should be able to top out alot faster .theirs alot of factors wind direction type of road and traffic once you get to the 130's with not very many mods it takes a while to get to 140 but can be acheived. I use to live in Corpus Christi ,Texas and we had a long 3 lane bridge called the causeway it was about 10 miles long i use to top out on it cops had no where to hide. What do you mean by an oem turbo our motors are non-turbos theres no oem but you can get an hrc kit! :dsm: be safe

ya the wind direction thing is no joke. when i would get bored, i would hop on the highway and drive up to wisconsin, turn around, and come back(about an hour round trip) and i would just do speed runs on the the highway. I did the 125 run on the way up there. then on the way back, my car just stopped accelerating at like 6,000 rpm's and was shaking like crazy from the wind. it was holding me back. so it makes a difference.

Sorry. What I meant by OEM turbo is an Eclipse turbo thats stock on the turbo models, I guess it's not really OEM on our cars.

haha yes, you have much to learm. the T-25, it could be used as a good hair dryer. but if your gonna turbo the non turbo, dont waste the money on it. Youl just have to replace it anyways. i would go with an HRC kit from hahn. it somes with a super 16g, or you can upgrade to a 20, but i dont think you would need that. anyways dont go with a T- 2 small. :thumb:

The t2-small is given that name for the 4g63 engines. We have 9.6:1 compression and brittle rods, so I dont think it would be as bad as you are making it out to be.

ya to start out. but if he has any plans for serious tuning, which im guessing he is if hes going to buy a turbo for his n/t, then the T-25 will be to small eventually. maybe not at first, but it would be a better idea to buy a turbo that can be used for the basics, and farther down the line, then it would be to buy a small one, and then have to buy another bigger one later
