Ok I have a 2G auto N/T talon, It's basicaly stock performance wise, Includeing the exhaust! So this summer I am for sure getting a new exhaust because right now I have some chezzie muffler that whisles when I hit the gas and I'm sick of my buddys makin fun of me! So once again I turn to the members of dsm tuner for help!! So my question to you is? What is the best type of exhaust for my talon? And rember it's auto! And I know how dumb imports sound with exhaust when they have a auto tranny! And I dont want my car to sound like one of those ricers I made fun of last summer:thumbdown . So yeah the sound I'm looking for is a deeper thoaty rumble that still sounds good with out shifting... :talon:

Try and find a local shop to do it for you. i had to go to chicago which is about 35 miles from my house, to get it done, but it was pretty cheap. they custom fabricated 2.5" piping and welded on a magnaflow muffler for about $325 and that was with labor. i think mine sounds awesome, but only when it is pretty warmed up. i havent run it in the summer yet, but in the winter, it has this raspy hissing sound when i get on it when the engine isnt warm. but after it warms up for about 10 minutes it sounds great, loud and deep. whenever i come home late my dad yells at me to keep the rpms down because im gonna wake the neighbors. the rpms were down. great compliment:cool:

i get a lot of compliments on the sound of my apexi n1, its a nice and deep sound even when i smash on the gas at high rpms:dsm:

I am the proud owner of a Greddy Evo exhaust system. I can say that the sound of it is "non-ricer" in my opinion. I drive stick if this changes things...

Is the greddy evo that loud? cuz a friend of mine has it on his wrx, and it seems pretty quiet, but he said it gives excellent flow... i was gonna get that originally, but i wanted a louder exaust

With a non-turbo, the Greddy Evo barks pretty loud. I have gotten pulled over for the exhaust being "too loud." Fortunately, Greddy can provide documentation to prove the exhaust is legal if you have to go to court.

My brother has N1 on turbo it sounds really nice even when he punches it.

Are there any exhausts that are quiet enough to never risk bothering cops?

RSR?
Greddy SP2?
Apexi WS?

i think it all depends on the cop. most cops do not carry decibel meters with them so it is almost impossible to get a ticket for that. im pretty sure all you can get is a noise violation fine or warning.

Come to California where the cops LOVE to give out tickets for "illegal modifications." I had to educate a few police officers on the actual law (95 Decibles)... In the end, its not wheather your exhaust is legal or not, its wheather the cop wants to give you a ticket.

well I checked out my buddys exhaust shop and hes recomendin flomaster... Any body have any feedback on there sound?

Ummm i really dont know about flowmaster on an eclipse. I have 2 friends with flowmasters. one with a mustang, and one wiht a 3000GT. both of them sound like muscle cars. the mustang should. but the 3000GT, i dunno. i wouldnt want a muscle car sounding eclipse, but i dont know if they sound like that on every car. im a fan of my magnaflow. :thumb:

from what I've heard, my friends 4cyl. mustang sounds terrible but then again my aunts neon rt sounds really good with a flomaster system.

i got an apex n1 cause thats what the guy before me put on the car. it sounds better than any eclipse in the area, and everyone agrees on that. i am also a big fan of the greddy evo because i was going to get a wrx with a greddy evo on it. it is just great sounding. so its a toss up, greddy evo or the apex n1.

Thermal R&D of course its a bias opinion because its what i have on my car. Nice deep throat sound to it, purrrz very nice

How do the Megan Racing exhausts sound? and what about the Apexi Dunk? Does it sound similar to the Apexi N1?
