1.8 to 2.0 motor swap

well, i have looked at some information, and after blowing up the 1.8 for about the 10th time, i have run across a 2.0 w/ a 2 year warranty for a good price. according to everything i've looked at, the tranny is the same (f5m22) and the ecu should also work as well. the only thing i'm not too sure about is all the accessories, such as the wiring and the motor mounts, but of everything i have seen, the swap is simple, yank it out and drop it in. anyone have any experience w/ the 1.8nt to 2.0nt swap. i would really appreciate it.

i did a 1.8 to 2.0 turbo swap. the ecu wont work. the ignition system is different the 1.8 has a distributor. the 2.0 has a coil pack. only motor mount u have to change is the one on the driver side fender that bolts in front of the timing cover and around to the side where the exhaust manifold is. make sure u have the 2.0 wiring harness. i dunno if the 1.8 and 2.0 n/t uses same fuel pump or not but the turbo engine is bigger. use the n/t 2.0 clutch and starter. yea it really isnt a difficult task if u got some automotive common sence. i pulled the 1.8 and droped the 2.0 turbo engine in my car in about an hour that was with a chain hoist and i had to push my car back and fourth tho rais and lower both engines in and out. then took couple more hours to hook all the wiring up. the biggist pain is running the wiring harness inside the car. you got to pull the dash and take all the heater/ac/ blower fan boxes out. im still not done putting all that back together.

i'm not looking to drop in a turbo, just the 2.0nt. i just found a good deal on one and wanted to know what parts from the 2.0 i may need. as far as i can see, the swap is relatively easy, but i'm not sure about the wiring for the 1.8 is different that the 2.0, just stuff like that i would like to be prepared for.

the wiring is different u will need the 2.0 wiring harness. the 2.0 n/t and 2.0 turbo is the same engine cept 1 dont have a turbo the swap would be relativly the same jus a lil less with the n/t far as all the turbo componets such as the ic piping bov smic ect. use a 2.0 maf also. i think the 1.8 and 2.0 n/t use the same down pipe for the exhaust. not too sure tho.
