2 questions

1. which vaccuum line of the 3 on top of the intake manifold is for the fpr, and where does that line lead to??

2. My engine turns over but i have no spark, my timing belt is fine and it isnt my alternator, is there some kinda of anti-theft shit goin on? My fuses arent blown and the onyl other thing i can think of if the problem isnt wires or plugs is my alternator relay(not present) or i need to grab a new coil pack...

btw i have a laser rs 2.0 4g63 dohc (auto)- i know it sucks but i will by manny tranny as soon as i can at least get the car running

my bad that fpr vaccuum line thing might only be on 420a's but if it isnt then nvm this post

1. Smallest nipple on he right side of the intake manifold and it goes to the FPR.

2. Check your connections. CAS, coil pack and transistor. Also check your MPI fuse coming off the positive terminal of the battery.

TimG is right about the FRP vacuum line. The is on the front of the intake manifold and kind of the right (if you’re facing the engine). As for it not starting what led up to it not starting? Was it working fine and then just went out one day or were you working on it and then it stopped working? And is there anything else not working (like the radio and power windows)? What I would check first is the fuse box on the passenger side of the engine. There is a black relay that sits all by itself in the front corner. I don't have my car with me to check but I believe that it is a 90 but I know it’s black. If that relay blows then your car will turn over but wont start, your alternator won't charge the battery, and a lot of interior items like the radio and windows won't work.

i actually got the car for free, it hasnt started since i got it, the only other thing wrong that i can tell is the main seal on the trans needs replacing, that relay that you are talking about is kind of next to the fuse box on the corner at an angle from the rest, that i think maybe the problem, my windows dont work, fm radio, blinkers brake lights reverse lightsand headlight motors

so hopefully thats it, what would i be looking for at an autoparts store and how much would it be or would it be better to go to a dealership (mitsubishi)

Yes it is the black on sitting by itself in the corner at an angle. I don't think that it can be found at an auto parts store. I've always gotten extras at a junkyard but if you don't have a good junkyard near you with plenty of DSMs lying around you will need to go to a Mitsubishi Dealership. That fuse/relay is definitely your first problem because the car won't start without it. However even after you replace it there may me more problems preventing the car from starting but you are at least one step closer and you can further diagnose and get your car running. Good luck and enjoy your DSM!
