1g n/t newbie need help

hey i have the chance to buy a 1g n/t for 1g in great condition. here's the deal, i only know about 2g's. so if you the great participaters in this forum could help me, please let me know what i should look for on this car when i go see it, also what problems occur in this car, especially frequently ones. any and all information you can give me on this particular dsm will help me 100% and i will be very thankful of anyone that helps. thanks in advance.


also, it is the 2.0 4g63.
 
also, are there any oem parts i can use for upgrades, for instance i know i can use the turbo cams, and somebody said the 2g shifter is a big improvement, any help would be awesome thanks again.
 
tale it for a spin and test shiftign under load and see if the clutch is good, the 1g n/t trannies are weak and the clutches as well.

dotn get oen with a sunroof, my leaked liek a civ

hatch struts wont work, trust me


as for transferabel parts, take the resistor pacl from a mt gst or tsi, the injectors,the fuel rail, the fuel pump, cams,save the head also. basically thats about it. if you have a mt you have 450cc injectors which are good for a seriously tweaked insane n/t motor. the auto turbo 390cc injectors you can use with a not so severe setup. the resistor pack wires into low inpedence injectors instead of high (n/t stock is high impedence)

the rail has the turbo regulator on it and that is needed also. the fuel pump is bigger therefore being an upgrade. the cams are slightly bigger but the heads are the same. other then that there isnt much. if you have a gst save the tranny,starter plate,flywheel,and clutch from it and throw that into the n/t. thats an upgrade also
