I don't want to buy new rods if it is not needed. I want is 10.5 :1 or 11.1 pistons? I will only race it a few times a month. This set up is really for daily driving. Also will high compression help my gas mileage?

why would you only replace the pistons if you had the whole thing apart anyways... wouldnt it make more sense to replace the rods too... you wouldnt buy new laces for old ass shoes.... besides being easier since you have everything apart it would also put my mind at ease that i replaced the old parts with new well made parts.. thats just my 2 cents

yes theyll take it. get press fit pistons and youll be ok.

aftermarket pistons have lock type wrist pins and stock is press fit

stock big rids will hold 450hp on a 1g. a n/a motor will never see that no matter what you do to it. unless your rich that is, i say get magnus 10:0:1 ross pistons and use the big rods. get good rings and good bearings throughout the bottom end. this is a good cheap way to get a good n.a bottom end. kinda liek a bog rod turbo motor. they put all the machine work into getitn 2g pistons on 1g rods. cept this way you dont take away fromt he rod, you just give it more compression

As i said i don't have money to blow if i don't really need it. I do my own work so it is nothing to spend a weekend taking the head and oil pan off to swap pistons. From what peaople say on the replies, the turbo and na 1g dsm have the same rods. So i guess they can handle high compression. If not i'll replace it later on.

I really want 10.5:1 or 11.1:1. YOu have and i dea of what kind of power your 10:1 pistons give you? I have a turbo intake cam so it might even give me a little extra . I am trying to build a a serious honda killer. In New York City, Hondas are all over. They get scared of turbo dsms, so i'm going to build a na monster to make that money on race nights.

yull get abotu 15hp just form that cam. its gotta be a 1g 5spd turbo cam from either a tsi or gst. has to be 5pd though, auto cam is smaller.

if you run 11:0:1 compression and that cam youll be somewhere right over 150-175hp. dont forget these motors put out liek 110hp stock. so to get to 200 is a task and a half.

id put pulleys on, lghtened flywheel, that intake cam, headers, full exhaust, new intake and mas translator and im guessin abtou 200hp

its hard to tell thoguh how much youll gain from that compression as every motor setup is differne tin one way. you have to also be careful of the head setup you run as if you go to big you will kill all power all together.

I was jsut searching for high compression pistons. I havent had a harder search in my life. There is not one company i found that offers them. i will check for those 10:1 pistons you were talking about.

brc custom makes pistons for the 4g63. they make 11:0:1, i had em

ross has a 10:0:1 set

weisco can custom make em to any 4g63 spec in any compression

je can custom make em

www.raceeng.com can custom make you pistons and order them from different manufacurrsklfhjs whatever.

you get my drift. race eng is a good site, try them and if you need any help pm me and i can find you anythign you want
