I started another thread but got no answers. I have a chance to get a good deal on a Snow Performance stage 2 water/meth injection kit. I'm running a big 16g with a stock sidemount right now. Knock is becoming a problem with the Summer season. Water/Meth injection is a little scary. Only because if there is a problem with the system, then it becomes a huge problem.
I understand I can run only water if I want, how would this compare to a FMIC as far as cooling temps? Understand also that every set up is a little different but how well does a Water only injection help to keep IAT's down?
If I were to use Water and Methanol, would I absolutely have to tune the car for the extra Octance caused by using Meth? Or could I just run the same tune and just use the Meth/Higher Octane to help reduce knock?
Only reason I ask is if the system fails for any reason, my motor wont blow up due to the high octane tune im running! I might start knocking a little becuase intake temps would obviously go up if it failed, but I wouldn't blow up my motor running too aggressive of a tune!
If that makes any sense? Any help at all would be really appreciated!
Edit: This is on a DD, so if yall say just to run a FMIC i'll hold out and wait on a good deal for one. I dont mind putting in the work for dialing in the Meth/Water.
Goals are around 350 whp running about 23 psi.
