I need to enterly re-wire my fans. How to?

Entirely* oops

Car is a 1990 GST.

Really just imagine I have zero wires on my fan. The guy who had the car before me completely ruined the wiring. So how should I wire my fans from scratch? I have read about hooking it up to come on with ecu, but no wires are coming from the ecu either.

Grab the FSM or Haynes/Chilton manual and look up the wiring for the fan circuit. Wire it according to that. That's how I would do it if I were imagining that there were no wires.

The cooling fan isn't turned on by the ecu, it is turned on by the sensor in the radiator.

Sorry I meant as a power source. I don't know what to use as power source.

And about the manual...that's a great idea. I've been stuck on looking online only so I hadn't thought of that. I don't necessarily need it to be factory, although in sure that's the best way. A creative alternative would be cool too.

It's a mystery why some still stick with Haynes or Chiltons manuals. The real Factory Service Manuals are available online for free.

Come to the dark side, if you dare.

Sometimes finding things in those free manuals can take forever because everything is bundled together into one pdf and you have to go thru 1k pages to find one schematic. Mitchell online is where i go for all my wiring schematics.

Yeah even with searching keywords it can be a pain especially if the PDF is distorted (happened a few times)

I was not aware of that site, I'll be sure to check it out
Is there any fees like alldata? I ask since I'm pretty sure you have a shop

IT is free thru autozone's website. You just have to make a free account.

Theres a wire harness attached to the fan motor.

Previous owner of my 1992 hacked the harness and installed a toggle switch (which didn't work) so car over heated. By the air filter should be a plug that this harness should draw it power from.

I went to pick & pull and cut the wires at the motor and pulled this harness. Installed it to the sensor at bottom of radiator and plugged it in at harness and wired it to fan and viola works wonders now.
