Hey guys, so I got my emusa gate today... Iknow I know, its not tile but dont beat me up, its only temporary until I get a Tial.... Just dished out a lot of money on the rebuild, etc as you all know.

I'm not looking for anyone posting to get a tial, turbosmart, etc. its only a temp and then will serve a backup wg.

It came in a nice box but my question is...
Anyone with experience on these wastegates can tell me at boost level I should stay in so it wouldn't fail??
Any other tips are welcome! Thanks!

It likely wont fail for quite a while).. a wastegate is a wastegate in most cases...

The ONLY part I have seen fail prematurely on Cheap-o wastegates have been the fire ring.. in which case I was able to replace that with the tial equivalent (I'm not sure if your wastegate has a tial equivalent...but usually they are just knocked off some known brand)

If you blew a diaphragm my bet would be it would also be replaceable by its "parent" brand's part so all in all you should be okay..

There are some things you should NOT skimp out on .. but a chinese wastegate or a BOV is likely not going to cause you much grief (unless you overboost of course) ..

yea i thought I read that I can use Tial internals if anything. Thanks for the input!:thumb:

I'm on a fresh build so... break in period I'm not going to be boosting over 10psi and then after that not more than 25 psi if anything but for the most part it will be on low boost. It will be like my DD so I'm not planning on beating it a lot ...

I had good luck with my gate till 30psi then it struggled to maintain good boost.

Did you test the vband clamps with just the adapter pieces they gave you? My outlet clamp did not fit over the supplied fitting. I had to buy a 30$ tial vband clamp and that fits great.

Pretty well built for the price.

How can it not be well built. They copied a very well built wastegate design that cost I don't even want to guess how much in r&d money to develop.

Did the same thing. Couldn't afford/find a good used Tial so I bought an ebial one and until I found a Tial, then sold the ebay one. Worked out great! Good luck!

True. I've been running a knockoff turbosmart for a couple years now with no issues at all.

And if it does fail, that's what the ecu's overboost protection is for. I really hope no one is stupid enough to rely solely on a wastegate for overboost protection, even a TiAL.

I ran the same wastegate for a while at 30psi on a hx40. Worked great, but I ended up ruining the diaphragm one time when I didn't reassemble it properly. I have another buddy running one, but ended up having problems with it leaking boost between the housing around the valve and the upper portion of the wastegate. Needless to say, it was a easy fix.
