I just redid the timing belt on my 6 bolt because i was at 20* btdc, but now when i start the car the engine sucks air through the exhaust and pushes exhaust out the intake, car runs! 150 psi accross the board.
What is going on with this thing how would i get the intake and exhaust valves to open opposite of eachother?

I used a 2 foot pipe on the wrench (for the cam gear bolt), i also tried using my torque wrench with a socket and it maxed out at(450 ft lbs) and i dont have a breaker bar but if theres 450 ft lbs or more on it i dont think a breaker bar would help and id also rather not risk breaking the bolt

There is no way that bolt will hold 450 ft/lbs of torque. What kind of torque wrench do you have that measures that much torque? They are pretty tight sometimes, but there is zero chance that there is anywhere close to 450 ft/lbs on the bolt. What are you using to hold the cam from turning?

If it is really on there that badly, I would say that you might have to either replace that cam and both cam gears just for piece of mind or remove the cam and gear to take to a machine shop to see if they can remove it. Those would be the only two things that I can think of at this point if you are unable to remove the bolt with a ratchet. You could have someone hold the cam with a wrench on the backside and then use an airgun on lower settings first to remove the bolt?

You could also use some kind of penetrating oil such as BD777 or some others over a period of 24 hours with multiple applications. No garantee though...

If you turn the crank so that the pistons are in the middle of the stroke and the valves can't possible contact them you can get crazy with it. I would place a towel on top of the head, place a piece of 2x4 on top of the head and le the wrench that is holding the cam from spinning sit against the block. From there take a wrench and put it on the bolt and hit or a breaker bar with a hammer. The shock from the hammer will help a bunch.

I ended up getting it after trying a little here and there, i used a torch to heat the bolt, sprayed it with penetrating oil, let it cool then heated it again, i still managed to bend another wrench, there was a ton of thread locker on it from what i could tell

Also the torque wrench i have is made by sk

Glad to see BryanWheat advise him to lower the pistons before really torquing on the bolt.
I have questions? was this car running before you started this timing belt swap?
If so, Are you sure it is not a 2.4?

my intake cam bolt was stuck on the 2g as well only thing that helped was my torch (THANK YOU HEAT) but i had 3 different people try to break it loose and it wouldnt, heat is a tool every mechanic should have!!

Oh yeah i knew to get all the pistons down, it was my first time doing this much mechanical work on the car but i do have a good understanding of how engines work.
And yes the car was running with the way it was set up, even with the cam lobes pointing away from one another, what makes you think it could be a 2.4?

The reason I asked if it was a 2.4?.
Because those extra holes on the cam gears are there so the sprockets can be used on a 2.4.
Just thought you should be sure it is a 2.0 before switching holes.

Depending upon how much heat you had to use... you might need a new cam seal??

Ah nice to know if i decide to switch over to a 2.4. no i made sure not to melt anything just losen the threads up
