Just last week I spent a little money, and picked up a nice set of black leather racing seats to replace the stockers. My problem now is that I have pulled the passenger side seat bracket and all with no problems. The problem is that the aftermarket seats do not have a wide enough bracket. I was hoping someone on here could point in the right direction for where I need to go, or what I need to do to install these.

This is the bottom of the stock seat out of my spyder, and it is significantly wider than the bracket on the bottom of the other seat.

This is the bottom of the new seat, and where I need to figure out how to widen the bracket to fit the stock mounts.
Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

Anyone?

Can anyone give me a hand as to how to go about installing these seats into my spyder?

Pull the bracket off the new seat and put the old brackets on using some flat iron to space it out to the correct width.

Use a pair of Tenzo R seat brackets. Weld a couple pieces of flat stock across the Tenzo brackets and drill holes in the flat stock to match up to the holes in the sliders of the seat. Should be a pretty simple process. I ran that same seat years ago, and this is how I mounted them in my 2G.

FYI: These seats aren't the greatest thing to be putting in your car: http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/152336845-post19.html

These are ancient pics, btw. :)

These are the flat stock pieces that we added:

Where would a good place be to find the Tenzo R brackets? Also how much do these seat brackets roughly cost?

Google it. They might even still be on eBay.

I paid about $50 each (i think) for them back in the day.

Yeah, I found them for 50.99 each shipped will cost me 121.97.

Will the stock seat brackets work on these seats at all?

With any aftermarket seat for the DSM it almost always requires CUSTOM, that is what the post above is trying to say.

If you want a DIRECT bolt on, you can purchase WEDGE Brackets. They are custom made for the car, and for the seat. the mounting holes on the new brackets are specific to the car floor, and holes and width matching to your new seat. You have to pay to play.

it is discussed more under keywords "wedge brackets" "seat brackets"

If you are going threw the trouble to weld some metal on just buy all the metal and build them your self so you dont have to buy them and probably be cheaper.
