Hey all, I just bought a 1997 Eclipse for $1600 with a 420A motor. it wasn't hook up, just mounted so I hooked the wire harness all up, the intake, radiator, ECU, and battery. I stuck the key in and it turned over but didn't fire. So i took the extra coil and new wires and swapped it. Turned the key and same situation. I have no spark. I searched for something on here to answer my problem but I couldn't find an answer. Can someone suggest some troubleshooting ideas for me? I'm starting to regret spending money on it...

Thank you in advance

Have you checked all the components seperately. you can take a volt meter to pretty much check every bit of you electrical to make sure that it is working. For the coil, for the plugs, and for the wires. Make sure you are getting electrical current to the ignition system then maybe you will be able to pinpoint which one is not working or rule it out

check all you wire plugs. make sure they are plugged in. to me it sounds like you just didn't find a plug somewhere and its killing the ignition

^^^^^^i meant connectors on the wiring harness. not your spark plug wires

first u want to check your coils, wires, pluges. if that is all good and no spark a big thing people forget to check is the ignition relay. I would pull it out and your local parts house should be able to test it for u. If that isnt the problem check all your wire harness conections and all the grounds.

Turn the key on and check for power to the middle wire on the coil. Pull an injector and see if you have power on one side of the plug too.
