does anyone know what model bulb the stock 1Gb foglight bulbs are? i took mine out the other day to see what they were but the bulbs were all broken so i couldnt really tell.

They are H3 bulbs but have a round connector. I've seen the Pilot brand H# bulbs that came with an adapter to connect the spade connector off the bulb to the round connector from the car. Maybe you can just cut the connector off the old bulb and put a female spade connector on the other end and make your own adapter.

2Gs use H3 bulbs for the fogs, but 1G Talons use 894 bulbs, 37½ watts. However, your Kragen rack (Maybe Wal*Mart, I'm not sure) will have Sylvania 885 bulbs which are the same package and run 50 watts.

Guess which one you really want. :D

Just an FYI in case anyone buys the wrong bulbs because of the wrong info in this thread... (like I did)

The 1st gen foglights bulbs are H3. Every H3 bulb I've seen uses a spade terminal vs the bullet terminal that the stock bulbs have but that's an easy fix. I just cut the bullet terminal off the wiring harness, crimped in a weatherproof spade and wham bam... plug in the new H3.

They make H3 bulbs that are 100watt. I almost went with them, but I wasn't sure if the stock wiring could handle it.

Stockers are 37 watts, most H3s you get at the store are 55watt. 6 amps vs 8 amp, pretty sure it can handle that. 100 watt would be 15amps.

The screw heads were stripped out so I had to easy out them to remove them. Replaced them with stainless 10x32, 2" long machine screws. The stockers are really 5mmx1.0, but the two are very very close and it's hard to find oddball metric stuff.

The plastic adjusters also had stripped heads. I just took a flat blade screw driver, heated it with the torch and made a slot. :)

They were probably bulbs from the factory, who knows. Osram 37 watt, why would I make that up? ROFL

H3 with a bullet connector instead of a spade.

Maybe there is a bulb made with a bullet connector and it's not called an H3, but I've never seen it. Easier to use parts that are common anyhow.

Either way, for sure it's not the 894 bulb like posted in this thread.. it's not even remotely close.

894: 01-894 - GE #894 Bulb. 12V with 2 prong base. 37 watt rating.

H3: PIAA H3 120 Watt Bulb - PIAA H3 Bulbs

Also the 885 isn't the same is the 894. 894 is 90* angle at the plug and 885 is straight.

An 885 with 90* base is a different bulb #. I'll check when I get home tonight since that is what I bought.

My 91 has Cibie lights.
