So the motor is almost out for a refresh, along with a tranny rebuild and some serious detailing/rewiring/rebuilding of the engine bay.
I'm going to do something with the stocker IM, but not sure what. I'm making a new wiring harness to take the injector and TPS wires through the IM, so the "square" wrap-around wire shield is history...and the screw bosses on the IM need to go bye-bye. I'm also thinking about changing the AFPR and BOV vacuum tap locations.
Have any of you guys shaved and sanded your stock IM's? Or sandblasted it? How about powder-coating?
Just fishing for some ideas. I'm not really interested in a SMIM, as I'm aiming to keep as much low/mid power as possible and just don't see it as being worth the money at this point.

I did the same thing, not that you can actually see any of that extra work once the mani is installed with all the other components around it
