Hi, today i drained my oil and its a very strange color.. Its a grey. Weird though, because i usually check it often, and its always been a good golden brown colour, and just recently i blew my turbo, and thats when the oil color went funny.

It dosen't smell like gas, theres no coolant or shavings in it nothing.

A friend said that i may have a problem with my PCV system, my dipstick DOES pop out sometimes after high boost pulls (23psi). My PCV is just my valve cover vents (x2) both to a vented catch can.. I NEVER get anything in the can.

Any insight on what to do?

Thanks.

Was it milky at all? Could have gotten some coolant into the oil..

+1
Grey usually mean there is some coolant in there as it turns a slightly milky color.
Then again, if you just notice this once you have drained it entirely, then it could be tiny, tiny aluminum shavings that were sitting in the bottom of the oil pan, yet never picked up by the tube. That would represent some of the usual symptoms of a rebuild/break-in period where everything was not quite right. I suggest filling it up and drive it for just a bit, then drain it again. (Just use a new oil pan that you can put the oil back in if you're using some spendy full-synthetics.)

Have you drained and checked the color of your coolant lately? It might be a good idea to check for cross-contamination in that system as well.

i will drain the coolant...

but another thing i noticed, my bottle of water/meth is empty. Im wondering if something happened with the relay and dumped about 2 liters into the oil. In which case it wasn't like this very long.

My friend has a neon with a srt4 swap, and everytime he does a oil change he has the same thing.. but it did it on his old motor too which was just a 2.0L n/a. He isn't loosing any coolant either.

Im just gonna change it and than change it again after 1-200km's and see how it looks. I need to look into my water injection system because that is a good possibility.
