It makes more sense to mount it that way, because you have the WG on that side as well. The only other car I've seen with that manifold, had the turbo mounted the other way and the WG was pretty much right on top of the compressor. Now, I know that if you have a FMIC, the air will cools off some, but you starting with hotter air making the IC work harder...
